A method for detecting network anomalies includes receiving a control message from a cellular network and extracting one or more features from the control message. The method also includes predicting a potential label for the control message using a predictive model configured to receive the one or more extracted features from the control message as feature inputs. Here, the predictive model is trained on a set of training control messages where each training control message includes one or more corresponding features and an actual label. The method further includes determining that a probability of the potential label satisfies a confidence threshold. The method also includes analyzing the control message to determine whether the control message corresponds to a respective network performance issue. When the control message impacts network performance, the method includes communicating the network performance issue to a network entity responsible for the network performance issue.

Network anomaly detection

Methods and apparatuses schedule resources and identify resource scheduling in a MU MIMO wireless communication system. A method for identifying resource scheduling for a UE includes receiving downlink control information; identifying, from the downlink control information, one or more DM-RS ports assigned to the UE and a PDSCH EPRE to DM-RS EPRE ratio; and identifying data intended for the UE in a resource block in a downlink subframe using the one or more DM-RS ports and the PDSCH EPRE to DM-RS EPRE ratio. A method for scheduling resources includes identifying one or more DM-RS ports to assign to a UE and a PDSCH EPRE to DM-RS EPRE ratio for identifying data intended for the UE in a resource block in a downlink subframe; and including an indication of the one or more DM-RS ports and the PDSCH EPRE to DM-RS EPRE ratio in downlink control information.

High-order multiple-user multiple-input multiple-output operation for wireless communication systems

A method and apparatus report channel state information (CSI) feedback of a user equipment (UE) in a coordinated multipoint communication system. The method includes identifying, when downlink transmissions to the UE are configured with at least two CSI subframe subsets, an interference measurement resource within one of the CSI subframe subsets belonging to a CSI reference resource. The method also includes using the identified interference measurement resource to derive an interference measurement. The apparatus includes a controller configured to, when downlink transmissions to the UE are configured with at least two CSI subframe subsets, identify an interference measurement resource within one of the CSI subframe subsets belonging to a CSI reference resource. The controller is configured to use the identified interference measurement resource to derive an interference measurement.

CSI definitions and feedback modes for coordinated multi-point transmission

A User Equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system using a Coordinated Multi-Point transmission/reception (CoMP) scheme receives Downlink Control Information (DCI) including CoMP control information, determines a starting position of a data channel on wireless resources, based on starting position information of a data channel included in the CoMP control information and used in each of a plurality of cells, and receives data from the plurality of cells starting from the determined starting position.

Method and apparatus for providing information about available wireless resources and determining the wireless resources used for data transmission

A subscriber station configured to communicate with one or more base stations or other transmission points (TPs) in a wireless communication network is configured to receive, from the network, information associated with one or more of the TPs that are candidates for coordinated multipoint (CoMP) transmission with the subscriber station, to measure a plurality of channel quality values for each of the one or more TPs, and to report the measured channel quality values to the network.

CoMP measurement system and method

A method and an apparatus indicate and identify a ZP-CSI-RS configuration. The method for identifying includes identifying a DCI format and the ZP-CSI-RS configuration in response to receiving one or more control messages where a first set of ZP-CSI-RS configuration or configurations are configured to be used for DCI Format 1A and a second set of ZP-CSI-RS configuration or configurations are configured to be used for DCI Format 2D or 2C. Aperiodic and periodic CSI feedback modes for coordinated multi-point transmission

Arrangements disclosed here provide an LTE E-RAN employing a hierarchical architecture with a central controller controlling multiple LTE radio nodes (RNs). The RNs may be clustered within the small cell network. A fractional frequency reuse ('FFR') scheme is provided that dynamically computes the FFR allocations at individual RNs and configures the corresponding schedulers within each RN to improve cell-edge users' experience. Once an FFR pattern has been generated and frequencies allocated, UE throughput can be emulated to predict the resulting bit rates for each UE. Using the prediction, a scheduler emulation may be run to predict the behavior of the system. The results of each cell may then be collected to generate the performance of the entire system, which may in turn be used to generate a new or modified FFR pattern, or new or modified clustering. Optimization of the performance results in an optimized FFR pattern.

The method includes performing channel estimation and/or time/frequency synchronization using the identified large scale properties for the DM-RS port. Another method for identifying by a UE includes identifying, from downlink control information, a CRS port that is quasi co-located with a CSI-RS port configured for the UE. The method includes identifying large scale properties for the configured CSI-RS port based on large scale properties for the CRS port. The method includes performing channel estimation and/or time/frequency synchronization using the identified large scale properties for the CSI-RS port.
