An inductor includes a body that includes a coil and that contains a magnetic portion in which the coil is embedded, and a pair of outer electrodes that is disposed on a mounting surface of the body. The coil includes a winding portion formed by winding a conductive wire that has a coating layer and that has a pair of wide surfaces, and a pair of extended portions that extends from the winding portion. The pair of extended portions includes a twisted portion that is connected to the winding portion. The twisted portion is twisted about a virtual center line of an end portion of the winding portion, and a twisted part bends toward the mounting surface about an axis substantially perpendicular to the wide surfaces at the end portion. End portions of the pair of extended portions near the mounting surface are connected to the pair of outer electrodes.

Inductor with winding that includes extended portions having a twist

An inductor includes a body including a magnetic portion and a coil embedded in the magnetic portion and outer electrodes. The coil includes a wound portion formed by winding a conductive wire having a pair of wide surfaces in upper and lower layers and first and second lead-out portions extending from end portions of the wound portion at outermost peripheries of the upper and lower layers. One wide surface of a distal end portion of the first lead-out portion is exposed at a mounting surface of the body, a first surface adjacent to the mounting surface, and a corner portion therebetween. One wide surface of a distal end portion of the second lead-out portion is exposed at the mounting surface, a second surface adjacent to the mounting surface, and a corner portion therebetween. The outer electrodes cover the exposed wide surfaces of the first and second lead-out portions.

Inductor and method for manufacturing the same

A formed body incorporating a coil by using: a coil formed by winding a conductive wire, and a formed body incorporating the coil, the formed body being formed with a sealing material containing a resin and a magnetic material. The coil is formed by winding the conductive wire so that lead-out ends are positioned at an outer periphery of a wound portion. The formed body is formed so that surfaces of the coil are partially exposed on four side surfaces of the formed body which are parallel to a winding axis of the coil, and the area of a portion of the formed body outside the outer periphery of the wound portion is almost equal to or smaller than the area of a portion of the formed body inside an inner periphery of the wound portion of the coil.

Manufacturing method for surface mounted inductor

Inductor

A surface-mount inductor includes an element assembly having a core, a coil, and a magnetic material; and a pair of external terminals on a mounting surface of the element assembly. The core has a base portion and a columnar portion on an upper surface of the base portion. The coil is disposed on the base portion, and has a wound portion on the columnar portion, and a pair of extended portions extended from the wound portion. The base portion has at least one ridge portion at which the upper surface and a side surface are in linear contact with each other. The pair of extended portions are each disposed such that a flat surface portion connected to a flat surface portion disposed at an inner side portion of a conductive wire located at an outer peripheral portion of the wound portion is close to the ridge portion.

Surface-mount inductor

A matching network is a matching network of a power amplifier circuit that outputs a signal obtained by a differential amplifier amplifying power of a high-frequency signal. The matching network includes an input-side winding connected between differential outputs of the differential amplifier; an output-side winding that is coupled to the input-side winding via an electromagnetic field and whose one end is connected to a reference potential; a first LC series resonant circuit including a capacitive element and an inductive element connected in series with each other, and being connected in parallel with the input-side winding; and a second LC series resonant circuit including a capacitive element and an inductive element connected in series with each other, and being connected in parallel with the output-side winding.

Matching network and power amplifier circuit

A surface-mount inductor includes an element assembly having a core, a coil, and a magnetic material; and a pair of external terminals on a mounting surface of the element assembly. The core has a base portion and a columnar portion on an upper surface of the base portion. The coil is disposed on the base portion, and has a wound portion on the columnar portion, and a pair of extended portions extended from the wound portion. In a cross-section parallel to a winding axis, the wound portion has, in at least a part of a region where the upper stage and the lower stage are in contact with or oppose each other, a boundary surface formed by one portion of a conductive wire at one of upper and lower stage sides being in contact with or opposing a plurality of portions of the conductive wire at the other side.

Surface mounted inductor and manufacturing method therefor

A surface-mount inductor includes an element assembly having a core, a coil, and a magnetic material; and a pair of external terminals disposed on a mounting surface of the element assembly. The core has a base portion and a columnar portion on an upper surface of the base portion. The coil is disposed on the base portion, and has a wound portion on the columnar portion, and a pair of extended portions extended from the wound portion toward a side surface of the base portion. The magnetic material includes the coil and covers at least a part of the core. The external terminals are disposed on the mounting surface of the element assembly and connected to the extended portions. The surface-mount inductor has, on a surface at a mounting surface side of the wound portion, a curved portion that is curved toward a side opposite to the mounting surface.
