The self-healing system comprises a self-healing processor and an error mitigation system. The self-healing processor includes a code block associated with the operation of a portion of digital logic. The self-healing processor also includes a dynamic signature analysis circuit. The processor executes the code block. The dynamic signature analysis circuit creates a dynamic signature representing the operation of the portion of digital logic associated with the code block. The error mitigation system receives the dynamic signature from the dynamic signature analysis circuit. The error mitigation system compares the dynamic signature to a static signature to determine if the signatures match. If the signatures do not match, then the digital logic associated with the code block has an error. The error mitigation system retries execution of the code block. The error mitigation system stores log information describing the above events.

Architecture for a self-healing computer system

A first semiconductor chip includes a first inductor and a second inductor, and a second semiconductor chip includes a third inductor and a fourth inductor. The first inductor is connected to a first receiving circuit of the first semiconductor chip, and the second inductor is connected to a second transmitting circuit of the second semiconductor chip through a first bonding wire. The third inductor is connected to a second receiving circuit of the second semiconductor chip, and the fourth inductor is connected to a first transmitting circuit of the first semiconductor chip through a second bonding wire.

An electrically insulated switching element driver includes: a pulse transformer driving unit into which a switching element driving signal and a duty signal are input and which drives, in accordance with the duty signal, a first or second pulse transformer that is selected depending on a state of the switching element driving signal; a first edge detection unit that outputs an on-off signal according to an edge in a pre-rectification output of the first pulse transformer; a second edge detection unit that outputs an on-off signal according to an edge in a pre-rectification output of the second pulse transformer; and a control driving unit that drives a switching element to be driven, based on the output of the first and second edge detection units, wherein the first and second edge detection units and the control driving unit operate with power resulting from rectifying the output of the first and second pulse transformers.

Electrically insulated switching element driver and method for controlling same

A double-acting hydraulic actuator structure for use in an automatic transmission has a two-layered structure which includes first and second frictional engagement element hydraulic actuators. The first hydraulic actuator includes a drum member and a first piston fitted hermetically and slidably in the drum member. The second hydraulic actuator is formed by the interior of the first piston and a second piston fitted hermetically and slidably mounted within the first piston. The first and second pistons are both urged toward their disengaged positions by the action of a common return spring. A second spring is provided for urging the second piston alone against the force of the return spring.

Hydraulic actuator in automatic transmission

A thrust washer has a protrusion which is formed with a projecting pawl. The rotating member is formed with a through hole, into which the protrusion of the thrust washer is inserted, such that the pawl is projected out on the opposed surface remote from the thrust washer of the rotating member, whereby the upstanding surface of the pawl is used as a stop means. Thus, the thrust washer is positively secured to the rotating member.

A four-wheel drive automatic transmission primarily consisting of an automatic transmission having a transmission case, a transmission gear mounted in the transmission case and an automatic transmission hydraulic control unit including a transmission valve body secured to the bottom surface of the transmission case; and a four-wheel drive transfer having a transfer case, a transfer unit mounted in the transfer case and a transfer hydraulic control unit including a transfer valve body secured to the bottom surface of the transfer case. In a clutch mechanism for a power transmission system which effects engagement and disengagement between a central shaft and an outer peripheral shaft provided on the outer periphery of the central shaft, an improvement characterized by comprising splines provided on the outer periphery of the central shaft, and an inner tube of an annular clutch cylinder containing a piston of a fluid actuator and a clutch plate of a multiple disk clutch, the inner tube being fitted on the outer periphery of the central shaft through the splines.

Described herein is a brake support mechanism particularly suitable for use in a 4-wheel drive auxiliary transmission to reduce the axial dimensions and to facilitate assembling of the transmission, the brake support mechanism essentially comprising: a transmission case; a cylindrical rotary member mounted in the transmission case; a multiple disk brake constituted by a combination of brake plates splined on the inner periphery of the transmission case and brake disks splined on the outer periphery of the rotary member; a center support fitted in the transmission case in a position adjacent the multiple disk brake; and a hydraulic actuator including an annular cylinder formed in the center support on the side of the multiple disk brake, a piston slidably fitted in the cylinder, an operating fluid supply passage formed in the center support, a return spring located on the outer periphery of the multiple disk brake and having one end thereof abutted against the transmission case, and a return spring mounting member connecting the other end of the return spring to the piston.
