A scroll-type fluid apparatus includes a housing whose interior is divided by upper and lower partitioning walls into chambers one over another, i.e., a discharge chamber communicating with a discharge port, an inlet chamber communicating with an inlet port and a drive chamber accommodating therein a motor. A first scroll member is disposed in the inlet chamber and has a lower surface formed integral with a first spiral scroll vane. A second scroll member is disposed in the inlet chamber at a location below the first scroll member and has a lower surface provided with a rotatable shaft which is rotatably supported in the lower partitioning wall. The second scroll member is integrally provided on an upper surface thereof with a second spiral scroll vane which is in mesh with the first scroll vane to form a plurality of variable-volume chambers. An oil pump is provided in the discharge chamber for supplying lubricant to contacting parts of the first and second scroll members. The rotatable shaft of the second scroll member is provided on the outer periphery thereof with a labyrinth seal and at least one annular oil seal for preventing leakage of lubricating oil and vacuum from the inlet chamber toward the drive chamber.

A scroll fluid machine comprising a first scroll rotated by a drive source, a second scroll eccentric from the central axis of the first scroll, the second scroll cooperating with the first scroll to compress fluid, a coupling which is provided on the outer end surface of one of said first and second scrolls and engaged with the one scroll at two positions in the periphery thereof so that the scrolls are movable in diametrical directions which are perpendicular to each other, respectively, and a pair of coupling arms which are provided on the other of the first and second scrolls and engaged with the coupling at two positions in the periphery thereof, in such a manner that the phantom line connecting the positions of engagement of said coupling arms is perpendicular to the phantom line connecting the positions of engagement of said coupling.

A scroll machine comprises a pair of scrolls 18, 21 rotating on different axes to form a compression chamber A therebetween and discharging compressed gas in the compression chamber B to a discharge chamber, a pair of boss portions 16b, 17b immersed in lubricant oil for rotatably supporting the respective scrolls through bearing means, a first oil supply path 16c; 43 formed in one of the boss portions for communication with a bearing receiving recess 16d; 17a of the one boss portion, a second oil supply path 18b; 44, 45 formed in one of the scrolls on the side of the one boss portion for communication of the first oil supply path with the compression chamber through the recess, and a pump 33; 42 coupled to a shaft portion of the one scroll for supporting it rotatably within the bearing boss portions and for supplying oil in the discharge chamber to the first oil supply path.

A scroll machine includes a first scroll 13 driven by a driving source, a second scroll 17 disposed eccentrically with respect to the first scroll and associated therewith to compress fluid, a plurality of first pins 22 arranged on the first scroll along a first circle coaxial with the scroll and protruding axially of the first scroll, a plurality of second pins 25 arranged on the second scroll along a second circle having the same radius as that of the first circle and protruding axially thereof and a connecting portion ring 26 for coupling the first pins to the second pins such that center positions of the first and the second scrolls are always separated from each other by an eccentricity of the second scroll with respect to the first scroll.
