The mobile communication terminal includes a case, a display unit, an antenna element having a feeding point for receiving electric power near an end, and a substrate. A plate-like member is disposed so as to be in close to or in contact with the end where the antenna element of the mobile communication terminal is disposed to be close thereto. The plate-like member may be a case cover. The plate-like member includes a long coupling element which has a length of about &#x3bb;/2 or more with respect to a communication wavelength &#x3bb; and stored in the plate-like member. When one end of the case of the mobile communication terminal is placed near the coupling element, the antenna element and the coupling element can be capacitively coupled to each other, so that radiation power in a specific direction is increased, and thus, a directivity gain is improved.

An antenna includes two elements having an antenna element which resonates by a frequency fand a ground wire element which resonates by a frequency fhigher than the frequency f. The antenna element is directed so that an antenna radiation part is located to be substantially parallel to a surface of a casing on which an operating part is provided. The ground wire element is directed so that a ground wire radiation part is located substantially vertically to the surface of the casing on which the operating part is provided. Further, a space between a feeding terminal connecting part of the antenna element and a ground terminal connecting part of the ground wire element is set to be equal to a space between a feeding terminal and a ground terminal and the feeding terminal connecting part is arranged to be parallel to the ground terminal connecting part.

Portable radio device

A mobile radio apparatus wherein the degradation of communication performance caused by electromagnetic noise can be precluded with enhanced reliability. This mobile telephone unit () comprises a camera body (); a circuit board () that includes partial board parts () located on the two respective sides of the camera body (); a camera shield () that is located close to and opposed to the back surface of the camera body () (which is opposite to the image pickup plane); a camera connection connector () that is connected to the camera body () and grounded in the partial board part (); a frequency limiting part () that is connected to the camera shield () and grounded in the partial board part (); a feeding part () that is located in the partial board part (); and a matching circuit part () that is located and grounded in the partial board part (). This can limit those ones of the frequencies of interference components dissipated from the camera body () to the circuit board () which adversely affect the communication, so that the degradation of communication performance caused by electromagnetic noise can be precluded with enhanced reliability.

Mobile radio apparatus

The present invention provides a folding type and portable wireless apparatus with a built-in antenna, particularly a portable wireless apparatus that reduces a local average SAR and improves performance of antenna. A housing open/close detecting unitdetects open/close of bodiesand. When the bodiesandare open, a first antennaand a wireless circuitare connected and resonant frequency of a second antennais adjusted into a first frequency bandwidth, and when the bodiesandare closed, the resonant frequency of the second antennais adjusted into the first frequency bandwidth and a second frequency bandwidth and a wireless circuitis connected. Therefore, when the bodiesandare open, it is possible to reduce a local average SAR by separating an antenna current. Further, when the bodiesandare closed, it is possible to obtain a high antenna gain.

Portable wireless apparatus

A portable wireless device is provided that eliminates the need for an antenna protruding from an housing by including a first housing and a second housing operating as a dipole antenna thus ensuring portability and delivering a high antenna performance despite its compact, low-profile and lightweight design. The portable wireless device according to the invention includes a first housing; a second housing; and a sliding unitfor slidably coupling the first housingand the second housingto each other; wherein the first housingis arranged a predetermined spacing apart from the second housingand includes a power feeding unitfor feeding power: between the first housingand the second housingand wherein the first housingand the second housingoperate as a dipole antenna. The portable wireless device does not include an antenna protruding from an housing. This ensures portability and delivers a high antenna performance despite its compact, low-profile and lightweight design.

Herein disclosed is a portable wireless device, comprising: a first casehaving a metal portion; a second case; a hinge portionoperative to rotatably connect the first case with the second case; a circuit boardhaving a ground pattern, the circuit board accommodated in the second case; and a feed portion connected to the circuit board, the hinge portionhaving a rotating shaftformed by a conductive metal, and the first case, the rotating shaftand the ground pattern collectively function as an antenna element, wherein the portable wireless device further comprises a first conductor elementaccommodated in the first casein spaced-apart relationship with the rotating shaftwith a predetermined gap, the first conductor element having an electrical length substantially equal to a half wavelength of a wireless frequency.

A conductive metal frame attached to an upper case is electrically connected to hinge metal member. The hinge metal member is connected to a hinge metal member by a rotary shaft in a rotatable manner. The hinge metal member, a further hinge metal member, and the rotary shaft are made of conductive metal so that electric continuity is obtained at contact points thereamong. The further hinge metal member is connected to a matching circuit on a circuit board via a feedpoint terminal. A conductor element is connected to a ground pattern of the circuit board at a position close to a point at which the matching circuit is grounded. The structure as described above provides a folding portable wireless unit that can secure a high antenna performance in a calling state and a waiting state.

Folding portable wireless unit

An object of the invention is that a user obtains high antenna gain with a simple construction in various use conditions of a portable wireless unit. To achieve the above object, in the invention, of a conductive antenna element, a part of a length of a substantially half-wavelength is used as a monopole part ( ), and is disposed along the inside of a housing at the upper end of a portable wireless unit. Of the antenna element, the remaining part of a length of a substantially &frac14; wavelength is used for an inverted-F antenna part ( ), and disposed parallel to a ground plate surface within the housing of the portable wireless unit. The inverted-F antenna part ( ) is disposed parallel to the upper end of the portable wireless unit ( ). One end of the inverted-F antenna part ( ) is connected to the ground plate ( ) through an earthing point ( ) provided at one end. A feeding point ( ) is provided spaced from the earthing point by a predetermined distance. With such an arrangement, there is no need of using an impedance matching circuit. The construction of the portable wireless unit is simplified. High antenna gain is secured under various use conditions.

Built-in antenna of portable radio apparatus

An antenna device capable of securing the space for disposing a conductor element easily in view of the trend of downsizing, without the need of a step for the conductance with other electric devices. An antenna feeder part comes in contact with a feeding spring at the time of contraction so that a helical part can function as an antenna as well as a conductor element is provided elongating along an antenna storage part in the space in the housing for capacitive coupling with the antenna feeder part so that the antenna gain is improved by the conductor element. Therefore, even when the radiation of the helical part is restrained by the influence of a human head part, in particular, of an earlobe, since the conductor element is the radiation source, it is easy to secure the space as well as a step for the conductance with other electric devices is not required, and restraint of the radiation by the human head part can be alleviated for the antenna device as a whole so that the antenna gain can be improved.

Antenna device

An antenna device has an antenna element,with a feeding point,which is provided in the casing,of a portable radio. Furthermore, a conductor element is provided in the casing, supplied with power from the same feeding point as what is connected to the antenna element and excited in phase with the antenna element and in the positive polarity. The antenna element and the conductor element both function as antennas and even when radiation from the antenna element is restrained because the antenna element is situated close to or brought into contact with the human body, the radiation from the conductor element is made possible, whereby the gain of the antenna is prevented from deteriorating.

Antenna device and portable radio using the same

An antenna apparatus with a coaxial cable used as a radiation element includes an antenna element having a first electrical length and a feeding point at an end. The coaxial cable is a second electrical length and both the inner and an outer conductors are coupled to a radio wave circuit at corresponding ends. An opposite end of the inner conductor connects to the feeding point of the antenna element. The first and second electrical lengths are selected to have resonance between the antenna element and the coaxial cable so that a radio wave signal is transmitted from both the antenna element and the outer conductor of the coaxial cable. The electrical length may be one quarter wavelength and the coaxial cable can be made of elastic material. Resonance is provided by generating a standing wave along the antenna element and the coaxial outer conductor at one quarter wavelength the desired frequency. By using the outer conductor of the coaxial cable as a radiation element unbalanced current can be prevented from flowing into the radio wave circuit. The elasticity of the coaxial cable permits close proximity between the antenna element and the radio wave circuit, allowing for miniaturization of the apparatus.
