A porous ceramic laminate, which can reduce pressure loss of a fluid, includes a first porous layer and a second porous layer. The second porous layer is laminated on, in contact with or via air, the first porous layer. A part of the second porous layer is laminated on, in contact with, the first porous layer. Each of the first porous layer and the second porous layer contains a metal oxide. A ratio Da/Db of an average pore diameter Da of the first porous layer relative to an average pore diameter Db of the second porous layer is 10 or more. A proportion of a portion in which a distance between the first porous layer and the second porous layer is smaller than 1 μm is 70% or less.

Porous ceramic laminate and method for producing the same

Manufacture of ceramic honeycomb fired body. Green molded body is placed on a firing base and fired. The firing base and green molded body are each a column containing a ceramic raw material and having a partition wall forming a plurality of flow paths, and patterns of end surfaces of the two partition walls are the same as each other as seen from an extending direction of the flow paths. The green molded body is placed on the firing base displaced in a horizontal direction by a predetermined distance, or rotated around a vertical axis V of the green molded body by a predetermined angle &#x3b8;, so that only a part of the lower side end surface of the partition wall of the green molded body is in contact with the upper side end surface of the partition wall of the firing base.

Method for manufacturing ceramic honeycomb fired body

A fixing jig includes a pedestal including a placing surface on which a columnar honeycomb structure is placed, holding members fixed to the pedestal and configured to hold a side surface of the honeycomb structure placed on the placing surface, and drawing and fixing members fixed to the pedestal and configured to draw and fix the surface on the pedestal side in the outer circumferential portion of a mask placed on the honeycomb structure. Consequently, the fixing jig can fix the honeycomb structure and the mask aligned with each other and is less likely to hinder the alignment of the mask.

A closing jig for a green honeycomb molded body includes closing protrusions which are arranged at positions corresponding to regular hexagonal cells and are inserted into the regular hexagonal cells to weld partition walls to each other for closing. Each of the closing protrusions includes a conical tip end portion that has a conical shape, and a triangular pyramidal base portion with a truncated triangular pyramidal shape having an apex angle larger than an apex angle of the conical tip end portion. The conical tip end portion has the conical shape with an acute apex angle. The triangular pyramidal base portion has the truncated triangular pyramidal shape having the large apex angle.

Method for producing honeycomb structure and sealing jig for green honeycomb moulded article

Regular hexagonal cells at both an top surface and a bottom surface of a green honeycomb molded body are closed at the same time. Therefore, the regular hexagonal cells can be closed effectively. In addition, the regular hexagonal cells of the green honeycomb molded body are closed by welding partition walls with each other, by inserting each of closing protrusions of a closing jig into the plurality of regular hexagonal cells. Therefore, a closing paste like the conventional method is not required. In a case where a honeycomb structure is used for a diesel particulate filter, turbulence of exhaust gas flow, at the end surface of the side to supply the exhaust gas and/or the side to discharge the exhaust gas, is reduced, and pressure drop can be reduced.
