A CCD converts an optical image of an object formed on its image sensing surface into electrical charges, and sequentially outputs the electrical charges of all of the light receiving pixels in one scanning operation in non-interlaced form. The outputs from the CCD are converted to the digital image signals by an analog-digital converter. A camera signal processing unit processes the digital image signals, thereby generating two streams of signals; one is digital video signals SV which are standard digital video signals in interlaced form, and the other is signals SV which are not outputted as the digital video signals SV out of the digital image signals of all of the light receiving pixels. These two streams of signals, SV and SV , are processed differently depending upon a mode selected by a switch.

Image sensing apparatus using a non-interlace or progressive scanning type image sensing device

A moving image mode for sensing a moving image or a still image mode for sensing a still image is designated by a mode designation unit of an image sensing apparatus, and image signals of all pixels of a non-interlace scanning type image sensing device are sequentially read out in one field period. If the moving image mode is designated by the mode designation unit, panning compensation is performed. In the panning compensation, whether panning or tilting is being performed during an image sensing operation or not is judged. If it is judged that panning or tilting is being performed, a control unit controls to prohibit or restrain vibration blur correction. If it is judged that neither panning nor tilting is being performed, vibration blur correction is performed in accordance with performance of the image sensing apparatus. Further, if the still image mode is designated, panning compensation is not performed, and vibration blur correction is performed in accordance with performance of the image sensing apparatus.

Image sensing apparatus with a moving image mode and a still image mode

In a video signal processing apparatus provided with an image pickup part for picking up an image of an object and outputting a video signal and a reproducing part for reproducing a video signal from a recording medium, a video signal which is obtained by picking up the image of the object and a video signal which is obtained by reproducing a video signal from the recording medium are arranged to be selectively supplied to one and the same digital signal processing part. This arrangement simplifies the structural arrangement of the apparatus and yet ensures high-quality reproduction of the video signal.

In order to display a high resolution still image by using a single image sensor type image sensing apparatus employing a single relatively low resolution CCD, an image of an identical object is taken four times in short time intervals. Each time the image sensing operation is carried on, it is controlled that an imaging position on a photo-sensing surface of the CCD is shifted by one pixel. Color signals of the plurality of color components which are obtained as above are stored in a predetermined areas in an image memory by each color component. After four image sensing operations are completed, the color signals are read from the image memory, and the final color signals or brightness signals are generated based on the read color signals, and displayed on a display.

A video signal processing apparatus comprises an image pickup part arranged to photo-electrically convert an optically formed image and to output it as an electrical signal, an external input part which permits external input of a video signal, and a signal processing part which has a delay circuit. The signal processing part forms a color video signal from the electrical signal outputted from the image pickup part and separates the video signal inputted from the external input part into luminance and chrominance signals by using the delay circuit.
