A medical device for cutting an object in a body lumen. The medical device includes a rotatable drive shaft; a tubular outer sheath configured to accommodate the drive shaft in a rotatable manner; and a rotation structure located on a distal side of the drive shaft, the rotation structure comprising: one or more rings; a cylindrical portion configured to be rotated by the drive shaft, the cylindrical portion having a side surface with a first groove portion; a cutting portion located on a distal side of the cylindrical member; the first groove portion is configured to pass through an inside of the one or more rings; and wherein the one or more rings is configured to rotate relative to the cylindrical portion of the rotation structure.

Medical device

A medical device is disclosed for cutting an object in a body lumen. The medical device includes a rotation structure having a cutting portion and an outer surface of the cutting portion including a notch, and wherein a width of at least a proximal portion of the notch increases toward a proximal end of the notch; and a drive shaft connected to a motor and configured to be connected to the rotation structure to drive a rotation of the rotation structure.

A medical device is disclosed, the medical device includes an outer tubular member made from one or more rigid materials having a first bend element including a distal end portion of the outer tubular member and a second bend element proximal to the first bend element in a natural state; and a treatment member on the distal end portion configured to grind a substance inside a body lumen, and wherein an outer diameter of the treatment member is larger than an outer diameter of the outer tubular member, and a difference between the outer diameter of the treatment member and the outer diameter of the outer tubular member is less than a thickness of a blood vessel wall.

A medical device for cutting an object S in a body lumen is disclosed, which includes: a rotatable drive shaft; a tubular outer sheath configured to accommodate the drive shaft in a rotatable manner; a rotation structure, the rotation structure comprising an accommodation portion configured to be disposed inside the outer sheath; an exposed portion, the exposed portion being located at a distal side of the accommodation portion and is provided with a cutting portion, in which the accommodation portion is provided to be rotatable by the drive shaft, and a side surface of the accommodation portion and a side surface of the exposed portion have a groove portion, the groove portion extending from the accommodation portion to the exposed portion.

A medical device and a treatment method are disclosed, which can effectively cut an object inside a biological lumen and can improve safety by reducing damage to a biological tissue. A medical device is disclosed for cutting the object inside the biological lumen. A structure rotated by a drive shaft has a first cutting portion, a second cutting portion located more proximal than the first cutting portion, a first non-cutting portion located between the first cutting portion and the second cutting portion, and a second non-cutting portion located on a proximal side of the second cutting portion.

A medical device is disclosed for cutting an object in a body lumen, including: a rotation structure which includes a cutting portion; a first shaft which is connected to a center shaft of the rotation structure and drives the rotation of the rotation structure; and a second shaft which is formed in a tubular shape surrounding the first shaft, wherein the second shaft is bendable at two positions including a first curved portion and a second curved portion located more distal than the first curved portion, and the second shaft is rotatable in a state in which a proximal side of the first curved portion and a distal side of the second curved portion of the second shaft are kept substantially parallel to each other.

A medical device is disclosed for cutting an object in a body lumen, including: a rotatable drive shaft; and a rotatable rotation structure which is connected to the drive shaft, the rotation structure including: a proximal portion; a distal portion; and a constricted portion provided between the proximal portion and the distal portion, the constricted portion including: a first tapered portion which includes a first cutting portion and decreases in diameter toward the distal side; a second tapered portion which includes a second cutting portion and decreases in diameter toward the proximal side; and a bottom portion which is provided between the first tapered portion and the second tapered portion.

A medical device for grinding substance inside a body lumen includes a rotatable tubular drive shaft, a treatment member connected to the drive shaft, and a tubular member possessing an axially extending lumen that extends throughout the tubular member. The tubular member is mounted on the treatment member and surrounds a portion of the treatment member so that the treatment member is rotatable relative to the tubular member. The treatment member includes a shearing portion, and the tubular member includes a protrusion that projects toward the lumen of the tubular member. The protrusion is located axially in front of the shearing portion and interacts with the shearing portion during relative rotation between the treatment member and the tubular member to shear debris resulting from the grinding of the substance.

Medical device and method

A medical device is disclosed for cutting an object in a living body lumen. The medical device includes a rotatable elongate member, rotating member having a cutting portion cutting the object and disposed on the distal end side of the elongate member for rotating together with rotation of the elongate member; and a distal member having a guide portion disposed on the distal end side of the rotating member with a space left from the rotating member and a supporting portion which supports the guide portion and defines a dimension of the space in an axial direction of the elongate member. The guide portion is disposed at a position at which the guide portion overlaps with part of the cutting portion and exposes part of the cutting portion as viewed from the distal end side of the distal member.

A method and dissecting device are disclosed for treating a stenotic vessel. The method including inserting a dissecting device into a subintimal space of a blood vessel; dissecting an inner side of the subintimal space from an outer side of the subintimal space over an entire circumference of the blood vessel with the dissecting device, the dissecting device including a first dissecting member having a first cutting member; and removing the dissected inner side of the subintimal space and a stenotic region attached to the inner side of the subintimal space from the blood vessel.

Atherectomy with subintimal space

A method and dissecting device are disclosed for treating a stenotic vessel. The method including inserting a first dissecting member into a subintimal space of a blood vessel and a second dissecting device configured to be received within a lumen within the first dissecting device and inserted into the blood vessel in a bent state; dissecting an inner side of the subintimal space from an outer side of the subintimal space over an entire circumference of the blood vessel with the first dissecting device; and removing the dissected inner side of the subintimal space and a stenotic region attached to the inner side of the subintimal space from the blood vessel.

A method and dissecting device are disclosed for treating a stenotic vessel. The method including inserting a directional guide member of a dissecting device into a subintimal space of a blood vessel, the dissecting device including the directional guide member and a cutting member located proximally to a distal end of the directional guide member; and cutting a stenotic region within the blood vessel with the cutting member while advancing the distal end of the directional guide member through the subintimal space.
