A retainer used for hair joining includes a retainer body, a rod-like member on one end portion of the retainer body, and an elongated cushion member which has multiple cuts and which is arranged on the retainer body such that it is spaced apart from the rod-like member. Reducible looped portions are formed on one end of each of multiple joining hairs to allow the rod-like member to pierce therethrough. The free ends of the multiple joining hairs are clamped by the plurality of cuts in the cushion member.

Method for hair joining, hair used for the method, and joining hair

A method for joining hair comprises the steps of forming a reducible loop on one end of a strand of joining hair, reducing and tightening the loop after piercing a strand of stationary hair through the loop, and weaving and tying together both of the joining hair and stationary hair to firmly join the two hair pieces. A joining hair used for the hair joining method is characterized in that at least one strand of hair is folded into two and free ends of the hair are pierced through the folded portion to form a loop on the joining hair. This loop or looped portion is then heated to curl so that the looped portion may not be lost or straightened. A joining hair retainer used for the hair joining method comprises a retainer body, a rod-like member disposed on one end portion of the retainer body, and an elongated cushion member disposed on the retainer body in such a manner as to be spaced apart from the rod-like member, and having a plurality of cuts. Reducible looped portions formed on joining hairs pierce through the rod-like member and free ends are inserted into and clamped by the plurality of cuts in the cushion member. Hair joining according to this method can be done easily and efficiently without the possibility that the scalp might be burnt with a high temperature trowel. Moreover, hair joined by this method exhibits long life.

In an anchoring member for a head ornamental article, a plurality of pectinate projections are mounted to a curved reverisble element in spaced relation to each other. A gripping arrangement is provided on the curved reversible element or on a wig base. The pectinate projections are capable of being engaged with and disengaged from the gripping arrangement when the curved reversible element is reversed. Engagement of the pectinate projections and the gripping arrangement with each other at the time the curved reversible element is reversed enables the pectinate projections and the gripping element to cooperate with each other to clamp therebetween an article being clamped. A hooking element is mounted to the curved reversible element, and is capable of being engaged with a caught unit on the head ornamental article so that the curved reversible element can detachably be fastened to the heat ornamental article. A wig is also disclosed which comprises at least one anchoring member.

In a wig, a wig base is made of an artificial skin and/or a net. A plurality of hairs are planted to an outer convex surface of the wig base. The hairs are inconspicuous in color with respect to the wig base, at root areas of the hairs which are planted to the wig base. Thus, knots of the hairs planted to the wig base are inconspicuous so that there is provided a natural hairline.

A wig or hairpiece comprising a wig base formed by a network having a convexly curved surface corresponding to the counter of a user's head, and hairs planted over the entire convexly curved surface of the network. The wig base is formed in a zigzag fashion at its front edge portion which corresponds to a hairline at the user's forehead. The wig base is stitched at a location slightly inside its front edge portion by a filament.
