A reinforcement member disposed at a front portion of a floor panel is disposed angled toward a vehicle width direction inside on progression from a position (input portion) on a vehicle width direction outside and vehicle front-rear direction front side of the floor panel toward the vehicle front-rear direction rear side. An outer end portion of the reinforcement member is joined to a rocker, and an inner end portion of the reinforcement member is joined to a floor tunnel portion. When the vehicle is involved in a frontal collision, collision load is input in an oblique direction to the position on the vehicle width direction outside and the vehicle front-rear direction front side of the floor panel.

Vehicle lower portion structure

A reinforcement member disposed at a front portion of a floor panel is disposed angled toward a vehicle width direction inside on progression from a position (input portion on a vehicle width direction outside and vehicle front-rear direction front side of the floor panel toward the vehicle front-rear direction rear side. A roof header structure which has a simple structure to allow effective reinforcement can be obtained. In an upper header panel, a beadis formed which continues in the vehicle width direction, being the deepest in the central portion in the vehicle width direction, the depth being gradually reduced toward both ends in the vehicle width direction. The protruding end (the lower end) of the beadis joined to the lower header panelin the central portion in the vehicle width direction. The beadreinforces the upper header paneland further reinforces the entire front header partthus with a simple structure, the front header partcan be reliably reinforced.

A spot weld fracture analysis method for a spot weld portion of three or more mutually superimposed plates that are spot-welded at a common welding point comprises an analysis step of executing an analysis by using a finite element model in which each plate is modeled by shell elements, and the shell elements corresponding to a spot weld point position of each plate are individually interconnected via beam elements, and a prediction step of finding an element force of a beam element that acts on a shell element relevant to a middle plate from a difference between the element forces of two beam elements connected to the shell element on a basis of the analysis result, and predicting a possibility of fracture of a spot weld between the middle plate and an adjacent plate by using the difference element force found from the difference.

An air bag apparatus for a passenger seat has reduced deploying speed and reduces the impact of the air bag on an occupant moving forward at the time of a crash of a vehicle. A gas generator is disposed in a case of the air bag apparatus, extending in a fore-to-aft direction relative to the vehicle. The gas generator case contains a cylindrical inflator extending in the fore-to-aft direction. An air bag is disposed in the apparatus case, folded in a predetermined manner. An inner bag for controlling gas flow is disposed in the air bag, folded in a predetermined manner. An auxiliary inner bag is sewed to an outside surface of a bag of the inner bag. When the inner bag is inflated and deployed, the bag of the inner bag presses a portion of the air bag against the windshield, and the auxiliary inner bag presses another portion of the air bag against the instrument panel.
