An ink jet recording method for recording on an ink jet recording medium including a support and a colorant receiving layer provided on the support having a porous structure containing at least polymer fine particles, using an ink composition including a colored fine particle dispersion containing at least one kind of hydrophobic dye, at least one kind of hydrophobic polymer and at least one kind of organic solvent having a high boiling point, wherein a void volume per unit thickness (A/B) of the colorant receiving layer calculated by dividing a void volume A (&#xd7;10ml/cm) of the colorant receiving layer at a void diameter equal to a particle size of the polymer fine particles obtained from a pore distribution curve by a nitrogen gas adsorption method, by a dry film thickness B (&#x3bc;m) of the colorant receiving layer is 2.0 (&#xd7;10ml/cm/&#x3bc;m) or more.

Ink-jet recording sheet

To provide an ink-jet recording medium that can absorb inks satisfactorily and exhibits high print density, minimized bleeding with time and satisfactory light resistance, an ink-jet recording medium includes a support; and an ink receiving layer which is disposed on the support, contains at least fine polymer particles and has a porous structure. The ink receiving layer has a pore volume per unit thickness (A/B) of 2.0&#xd7;10ml/cm/&#x3bc;m or more, where A is the pore volume (&#xd7;10ml/cm) in the ink receiving layer at a pore diameter equal to the average particle diameter of the fine polymer particles, which pore volume is determined based on a pore distribution curve obtained according to a nitrogen gas adsorption technique; and B is the dry thickness (&#x3bc;m) of the ink receiving layer.

A colored photosensitive composition is composed of a pigment composition, a binder polymer having an acidic group, a multi-functional monomer having at least two ethylenic unsaturated double bonds, and a photopolymerization initiator. The pigment composition is composed of an organic pigment, a dispersant, and an organic solvent. The dispersant is a copolymer of a polymerizable oligomer having an ethylenic unsaturated double bond in its terminal position and one or more monomers at least one of which has a nitrogen-containing group and an ethylenic unsaturated double bond.
