[Object] Motorization of a running gear of a construction machine traveling on wheels is realized without enormous increases in vehicle-body dimensions and costs. [Solution Means] A wheeled excavatorincludes travel wheelsinstalled in a vehicle body, an engine, a running motor-generator, an inverterand a batterywhich are electrically connected to the motor-generator, a hydraulic pumpdriven by the engine, and a power transmission mechanism which transmits power among the engine, the wheels, the running motor-generator, and the hydraulic pump. A clutchwhich connects and disconnects the power transmission between the engineand the wheelsis provided in the power transmission mechanism. In a required area on the vehicle body, a clutch switching means is mounted for switching the clutchto a disengaged state during a level road run and to an engaged state during a downhill run.

Construction machine

An electrically operated brake device in which braking force differences between electrically operated brakes are reduced to prevent unstable vehicle traveling during braking. Motorsof electrically operated brakes are returned to standard positions during the stop of a vehicle and the motorof each of the brakes is driven for a predetermined amount, pressing a brake padagainst a disc rotorto produce a braking force. An electric current value of each motorin the above operation is measured and differences between the values are calculated. Electric current of each motor is increased or decreased so that there is no current difference between the motors. Based on a drive amount of each motor in this operation, standard positions of the motors are determined and updated. Repeating the above operations reduces braking force differences between the brakes.

Electrically operated brake

A hybrid drive type vehicle having a permanent magnet type synchronous motor can provide high torque characteristics in low revolution speed range of the engine and high power generation characteristics at high revolution speed range of the engine. The hybrid drive type vehicle includes an electric rotary machine being formed with a stator and a rotor. A field magnet of the rotor include a first field magnet and a second field magnet. The first and second field magnets are opposing with a magnetic pole of the stator and having a mechanism for varying a phase of a magnetic pole resulting from combination of the first and second field magnets relative to the magnetic pole of the first field magnet depending upon direction of a torque of the rotor.

Hybrid car and dynamo-electric machine

When the power source of a motor is turned off, a cam connected to the motor is held at an initial default stopping position by a return spring generating a torque in one direction and a throttle valve connected to a cam via an arm, and a valve gear is held at a corresponding default opening position. When the motor rotates and generates its torque, the arm first closes the throttle valve to a prescribed minimum opening and then opens the throttle valve in the fully open direction.
