Provided is a control device for a machine tool capable of reducing adverse effects due to rapid changes in periodic fluctuations in the rotation speed of a main spindle while maintaining an effect of suppressing regenerative self-excited chatter vibration. This control device for a machine tool includes a fluctuation command calculation unit configured to calculate a fluctuation command based on a speed command for a main spindle motor of the machine tool and a fluctuation condition for causing a rotation speed of the main spindle motor to periodically fluctuate, and a speed control unit configured to control the rotation speed of the main spindle motor based on the speed command and the fluctuation command. The fluctuation command calculation unit is configured to calculate, when the fluctuation condition is changed, the fluctuation command in which an amplitude of the rotation speed that periodically fluctuates and/or a frequency of the rotation speed that periodically fluctuates gradually changes.

A parameter determination supporting device comprises: initial parameter determination means that determines an initial parameter for a trial run based on specification information about a motor driver and output specification information about a motor; program generation means that generates a trial run program based on the output specification information about the motor, the trial run program being used in a trial run for acquiring data necessary for adjusting a parameter for determining an output from the motor; automatic measurement means that automatically measures operation information determined by driving the motor by applying the initial parameter and following the trial run program; estimation means that estimates the circuit constant of the motor based on the operation information; and calculation means that calculates an optimum parameter conforming to the output specification of the motor based on the circuit constant.

An object is to provide the numerical control device of a machine tool which can achieve both a reduction in heat generation and stability in heavy cutting. A numerical control device includes a command transmission portion which transmits a speed command value and a magnetic flux command value to the spindle control portion of a machine tool and a storage portion which stores magnetic flux amounts corresponding to tools that may be used in the machine tool. The numerical control device also includes a tool detection portion which detects a tool selected in the machine tool and a magnetic flux amount setting portion which commands the command transmission portion to read, from the storage portion, a magnetic flux amount corresponding to the tool detected by the tool detection portion and to output the magnetic flux amount to the spindle control portion of the machine tool.
