A first contact member comprises a liquid conductor which comes into contact with a second contact member so as to establish the electric connection between the two contact members. A container contains the first contact member therein. The second contact member is pin-shaped. The container is tube-shaped and has a containing portion, which is filled with the liquid conductor, and has an opening through which the second contact member is inserted. An area contraction portion for contracting the cross sectional area of the container is formed at a position between the containing portion and the opening. The container is installed in a through hole provided in a base member. The container includes a pipe member of an electric conductor which comes into direct contact with the liquid conductor and a plug member to be inserted into the hole, before the pipe member is inserted, for preventing the liquid conductor from escaping from the container. The container is formed of elastic material. The portion of the container near to the opening is split into segments and portions of the segments are positioned away from each other as the portions are near to the opening so that the outer diameter of the segments is larger than the inner diameter of the hole before the container is installed into the hole, the segments approaching each other as the container is being inserted into the hole against the elastic force of the segments.

Connector employing liquid conductor for electrical contact

A connector for coaxial cables in the form of three flat cables. The coaxial cables are arranged in the cable holder in three rows, so that bared signal conductors extend straight from the cable holder in the insulating body of the connector and ground conductors or ground wires remain in the cable holder. The connector includes wide ground contacts which are inserted in the cable holder to contact the ground conductors or ground wires of the coaxial cables under pressure, and three rows of signal contacts to which bared ends of signal conductors of the coaxial cables are soldered. Three rows of signal contacts are supported by three parallel support plates, respectively. The ground contacts are arranged between first and second rows of the signal contacts and between second and third rows of the signal contacts. A ground shell surrounds the signal contacts whereby a multi-layer strip line structure is formed.

An electrical connecting device including a first circuit board providing thereon with input/output terminals, each of the terminals having a tip surface coated with gallium and a second circuit board providing thereon with contact terminals, each of the terminals having a tip surface coated with indium or tin. A low-melting point alloy layer is formed by a mutual action between gallium and indium or tin, when the input/output terminals of the first circuit board are in contact with the respective terminals of the second circuit board and electrically connected to each other. The second metal layer includes a plurality of wire-like metal supports extending substantially perpendicular to the surface of the terminal and a low-melting point metal retained by the wire-like metal supports.

Electrical connecting device and method for making same

A plug-in connector includes a connector main body having contacts connected to a cable, and a housing accommodating the connector main body. Latch springs are respectively attached to first and second surfaces of the housing, and respectively have first engagement portions which engage, in a locked state, second engagement portions of a jack connector to be connected with the plug-in connector. An operating member, which cooperates with the latch springs, includes latch releasing portions respectively engaging with the latch springs and disengaging the latch springs from the second engagement portions when the plug-in connector is pulled whereby the plug-in connector is released from the locked state.

The electronic device has a plurality of interconnection pins for engagement with corresponding through-holes on the substrate for electric interconnection. The mounting device incorporates a plate member of an insulating material provided with a plurality of counter-bores on an upper major surface of the plate member in correspondence to the interconnection pins of the electronic device, a plurality of through-holes provided on the plate member in correspondence to each of the counter-bores in a concentric relationship to the counter-bore, and a plurality of solder rings provided on the plurality solder rings provided on the plurality of counter-bores.

An impedance matched electrical connector comprising a plug connector member and a matable jack connector member for an electric connection between printed wiring boards. The plug connector member comprises a plug housing of insulating material in which planar and elongated male conductors, a first row of male signal terminals, and a second row of male signal terminals are arranged in respective, parallel planes. A conductive ground shell is attached to the outer peripheral surface of the plug housing, so that the first and second rows of male signal terminals are arranged between the elongated male conductors and a planar portion of the ground shell, respectively, to thereby form a strip line structure by which the impedance of the connector is matched to the impedance of the printed wiring boards and the amount of crosstalk is relatively low.

Impedance matched electrical connector

In an electrical connector, a contact comprises a first contact portion, a second contact portion having its axis parallel with the axis of the first contact portion and a connecting portion connecting the first and second contact portions. The angles of the connecting portion relative the axes of the first and second contact portions are capable of being changed. A plurality of these contacts are inserted into holes or channels of an insulator member of the connector.

Electrical connector

A connector having polarity which comprises a plug and a jack. At least one polar key is provided on the plug so as to avoid erroneous insertion of the jack into the plug. A guide groove is provided on the jack at a position corresponding to the polar key in a normal position of this jack with respect to the plug. A projection is formed on the top end of the polar key and extends in the direction of insertion or withdrawal of the jack. A recess for receiving the projection is formed in the front surface of the jack at a position corresponding to the polar key in a reversed position of the jack with respect to the plug.
