An image projection apparatus includes an image generation element to generate an image using light emitted from a light source, a shift unit to shift a position of the image generation element with a given cycle, a projection control unit to control projection of the image under a plurality of modes, the modes including a first mode in which the image is projected without shifting the position of the image generation element by the shift unit, and a second mode in which the image is projected while shifting the position of the image generation element by the shift unit, and a detector to detect whether the image generation element operates normally. When the detector detects that the image generation element does not operate normally under the second mode, the projection control unit stops image processing being performed, and switches the second mode to the first mode.

Image projection apparatus, and method of controlling image processing

An image projection apparatus includes an image generation element to form an image using light emitted from a light source, a shift unit to shift a position of the image generation element when a pixel shift mode is set, circuitry to generate, when the pixel shift mode is set, images used for the pixel shift mode based on image data input to the image projection apparatus, perform keystone correction processing to the generated images, and cause the processed images to be projected as the image by reciprocally shifting the position of the image generation element, or to perform, when the pixel shift mode is not set, the keystone correction processing to image data input to the image projection apparatus to generate an image applied with the keystone correction processing, and project the generated image without shifting the position of the image generation element.

A projection display system includes a projector to project an image onto a projection surface, and a remote controller to control the projector. The remote controller includes a first sensor to measure a current value of horizontal distance to the projection surface, a second sensor to measure a current value of vertical distance to the projection surface, and a processor to obtain, from a memory, preset values of horizontal distance and vertical distance corresponding to a screen size selected by a user, and to control a display to display a screen including the obtained preset values of horizontal distance and vertical distance, the current value of horizontal distance measured by the first sensor, and the current value of vertical distance measured by the second sensor.

A multi-projection system includes a plurality of projectors for projecting divided images onto projection positions to project an image composed of the divided images, a plurality of image capturing devices to capture the divided images and surrounding areas of the divided images, a projection position identification unit to identify projection positions of the projectors based on captured image information acquired by capturing position discriminating images and the surrounding areas, a receiving unit to receive a signal from each of the projectors, a number identification unit to identify the number of the projectors based on a reception result by the receiving unit, a determination unit to determine the position discriminating images to be projected by the projectors based on an identification result of the number identification unit, and a projection processing execution unit to instruct projection of the position discriminating images determined by the determination unit to the projectors.

Multi-projection system

A perch channel transmission and cell selection method for a CDMA mobile communication system which is capable increasing a system capacity by reducing an amount of interference power. In this method, each base station intermittently transmits a perch channel which is spread by using a spread code assigned to each base station. Then, a mobile station receives more than one perch channels transmitted from more than one base stations, measures a receiving level of an intermittently transmitted portion of each received perch channel, and judges a located cell according to measured receiving levels of these more than one perch channels.

A mobile station position estimation scheme for a cellular mobile communication system which is capable of estimating a position of a mobile station in a simple manner even in the general cellular mobile communication systems in which base stations are not synchronized. According to this mobile station position estimation scheme, a first signal sequence and a second signal sequence which are uniquely predetermined for the mobile station are exchanged between the mobile station and the base station, and then a position of the mobile station is estimated at one station among the base station and the mobile station, by obtaining a phase difference between the first signal sequence and the second signal sequence and calculating an estimated distance between the base station and the mobile station according to the phase difference.

A scheme for intermittent reception of paging signals in a mobile communication system, in which each base station repeatedly transmits a frame which contains: at least one regular reception section having a plurality of paging indication regions provided in corresponding to a plurality of groups, in which a paging presence information for indicating a presence of a paging with respect to a mobile station of a group is set in a paging indication region corresponding to that group when a paging with respect to a mobile station of that group occurs; and a mobile station alerting section having a plurality of identification information setting regions provided in correspondence to a plurality of paging indication regions, in which an identification information of a mobile station called by a paging indicated by a paging indication region is set in an identification information setting region corresponding to that paging indication region. Each mobile station receives this frame by operating a receiver circuit intermittently.

A method and an apparatus for signal transmission in a CDMA mobile communication system which are capable of preventing an unnecessary increase of an amount of interference power due to the signal transmission through a radio channel and thereby preventing an unnecessary decrease of a system capacity. The radio channel transmission signals are transmitted through the radio channel, where the radio channel transmission signals contain the transmission signals which are formed by control signals or user signals and necessary signals which are necessary in maintaining the radio channel, and this radio channel transmission is controlled so that only signal portions for the necessary signals are transmitted without transmitting any other signal portions when there is no transmission signal to be transmitted.

Method and apparatus for signal transmission in CDMA mobile

A cell selection scheme in a CDMA mobile communication system which is capable of shortening the cell selection processing time while constructing a mobile communication system with a practically feasible base station configuration. In a CDMA mobile communication system, first type base stations which share a common reference timing are transmitting pilot channels spread by using an identical pilot channel spread code at mutually different spread code phases with respect to the common reference timing where these mutually different spread code phases are assigned to different first type base stations, and second type base stations which do not share the common reference timing are transmitting pilot channels spread by using mutually different pilot channel spread codes at arbitrary spread code phases where these mutually different pilot channel spread codes being assigned to different second type base stations. A mobile station receives these pilot channels and judges a located cell of the mobile station according to receiving levels, pilot channel spread codes and spread code phases of received pilot channels.

A scheme for controlling transmission powers during a soft handover in a CDMA mobile communication system, in which the receiving quality can always satisfy the reference quality even when a relationship between the receiving qualities at the base stations is reversed within the selective combination interval. In this transmission power control scheme, one radio channel among a plurality of radio channels is selected as a reference radio channel at the prescribed selective combination interval, and then a transmission power control is carried out at a prescribed transmission power control interval so that a receiving quality of the reference radio channel satisfies a prescribed reference quality, while not switching the reference radio channel within the prescribed selective combination interval.
