A thermal printer, includes a head unit including a thermal head configured to perform printing on a recording sheet; a platen unit, which includes a platen roller configured to convey the recording sheet, and is separably combined with the head unit; a printer main body, which has a recording-sheet receiving portion configured to receive the recording sheet, and has the head unit mounted thereto; a printer cover, which has the platen unit mounted thereto, and is coupled to the printer main body so as to be pivotable; and a separator, which is provided in the recording-sheet receiving portion, and is configured to separate parts of the recording sheet, which is rolled into a roll shape around a core body, folded on each other at a rolling start portion, which is rolled around the core body and has a turn-back shape.

Thermal printer

A printing unit includes a head unit; a platen unit separately combined with the head unit; a fixed blade provided to the platen unit; a movable blade, which is provided to the head unit and is relatively movable with respect to the fixed blade; a drive mechanism, which includes a drive rack coupled to the movable blade, and moves the movable blade between a standby position being separated from the fixed blade and a cutting position at which the movable blade rides on the fixed blade; an operation lever being movable between a lock position and a releasing position; and a return mechanism configured to move the movable blade from the cutting position toward the standby position side through intermediation of the drive rack in association with the operation lever. The return mechanism includes a lever returning mechanism, under the state in which movable blade is stopped at the cutting position, transmits motive power generated along with an operation of the operation lever from the lock position toward the releasing position to the drive mechanism to move the movable blade toward the standby position and returns the operated operation lever from the releasing position side to the lock position.

Printing unit and thermal printer

A printer has a main unit supporting one of a platen roller and a recording head and has a movable blade, a movable blade holder holding the movable blade, a reciprocating mechanism for reciprocating the movable blade holder to slide the movable blade, a drive gear that drives the reciprocating mechanism, a motor that rotationally drives the drive gear, and a gear train mechanism that transmits a rotational force of the drive gear to the reciprocating mechanism. A detachable unit supports the other of the platen roller and the recording head and has a fixed blade for cutting the recording sheet in association with the movable blade. The detachable unit is attachable to and detachable from the main unit and moves close to and away from the main unit along a sliding direction of the movable blade when the detachable unit is attached to and detached from the main unit.

Printer with a cutter

A cutter mechanism has a main unit supporting a movable blade and a motor for driving the movable blade. A detachable unit is attachable and detachable from the main unit and supports a fixed blade for cutting a sheet while sandwiching the sheet together with the movable blade. A holder holds the fixed blade with respect to the movable blade in an inclined state so that a cutting edge of the fixed blade forms a predetermined cutting angle with respect to a cutting edge of the movable blade. A holder support member supports the fixed blade movably in a direction in which the movable blade cutting edge moves close to and away from the fixed blade cutting edge. A biasing member biases the holder in a direction so that the fixed blade cutting edge is brought into press-contact with the movable blade cutting edge.

Cutter mechanism and printer with a cutter

A printer has first and second units configured for attachment/detachment relative one another and for supporting one of a recording head and a platen roller. The first unit has spaced wall portions provided with first and second recesses. The second unit has engagement pins that detachably fit into respective ones of the first recesses, a latch member that undergoes rotation about an axial line of the engagement pins and has a pair of lock pins that detachably fit into respective ones of the second recesses after the engagement pins are fitted in the first recesses, a biasing member biasing the latch member in a first direction of detachably fitting the lock pins in the second recesses, and a release member for moving the lock pins in a second direction opposite to the first direction to detach the lock pins from the second recesses.

Printer

Provided is a printer capable of minimizing paper jam with a simple configuration, preventing a recording sheet from being caught around a platen roller, and quickly performing removal of the recording sheet. The printer includes: a main unit () including a platen roller (); and a detachable unit () including a recording head (). The main unit includes: a wall portion () provided on a downstream side in a feeding direction of the recording sheet with respect to the platen roller; a guide member () supported at an upper end of the wall portion; and a stopper portion () which is provided on a downstream side in a rotating direction of the platen roller with respect to the guide member, and defines, between the platen roller and the wall portion, a retention space (C) in which the recording sheet having passed through a gap between an opposed surface () of the guide member and the outer peripheral surface of the platen roller is retained. The stopper portion includes a claw portion () for pulling the recording sheet having passed through the gap between the opposed surface and the outer peripheral surface of the platen roller apart from the platen roller and for retaining the pulled-apart recording sheet in the retention space.

A printing device has a print head, a platen roller, a main body frame supporting one of the print head and the platen roller, and a main body unit incorporating the main body frame. A sheet cutting device includes a first blade undergoing sliding movement relative to a second blade in a direction substantially orthogonal to a sheet material to be cut. A first frame slidably supports the first blade and undergoes movement in a direction orthogonal to a sliding direction of the first blade from a first position at which the first blade frame is incorporated to the main body frame to a second position at which the first blade frame is separated from the main body frame. A second frame supports the second blade and undergoes movement in the sliding direction of the first blade from a first position at which the second blade frame is mounted to the main body unit to a second position at which the second blade frame is detached from the main body unit. The first and second blades undergo movement in directions orthogonal to each other during movement of the first and second blade frames to the respective second positions to release a contact pressure between the first and second blades.

Printer with cutter

A printer with a cutter has a print head, a a platen roller, a fixed blade, and a movable blade that slides toward the fixed blade for cutting a printed recording sheet. A fixed blade holder has a first surface supporting the fixed blade thereon and a second surface curved along an outer periphery of the platen roller with a first gap therebetween for guiding the recording sheet toward a downstream side of the fixed blade holder when the recording sheet enters the first gap. A holder support pivotally supports the fixed blade holder and has a surface opposed to the outer periphery of the platen roller with a second gap therebetween for guiding the recording sheet to allow the recording sheet to be wound around the outer periphery of the platen roller when the recording sheet is guided by the second surface of the fixed blade holder.

A sheet material cutting unit has a movable blade mounted to undergo reciprocal movement relative to a stationary blade for cutting a sheet material, and a movable blade holder that reciprocates with the movable blade. A sheet material retaining structure retains the sheet material on a sheet material transfer path during cutting of the sheet material and comprises oppositely disposed stationary and movable holding portions, with the movable holding portion being mounted on the movable blade holder for reciprocal movement therewith. A transmitting structure transmits reciprocation of the movable blade to the movable holding portion to maintain the sheet material in a sandwiched state between the movable holding portion and the stationary holding portion during cutting of the sheet material. The transmitting structure has a notch portion formed in the movable blade holder, a biasing member disposed in the notch portion, and a protrusion of the movable holding portion extending into the notch portion and contacting the biasing member so that during movement of the movable blade toward the stationary cutting member, the movement of the movable blade is transmitted to the movable holding portion.

Sheet material cutting unit and printing device

A print head has a reduced power size or increased print speed that can be operated at a lower voltage or higher speed and can maintain high-quality output printing free from thinned portions. During intervals between printing operations while a print paper is being fed, pulses are applied to all print electrodes to maintain a uniform potential difference between each of the print electrodes and a counter electrode so that an electric charge is supplied to the ink meniscus. Consequently, a sufficient Coulomb force to permit ink droplets to be ejected is obtained. Therefore, during printing operations, the supplied energy can be reduced and electric charge on the ink surface can be retained. Hence, ink droplets can be ejected stably without nonuniformities.

Ink printer

In an electrostatic acceleration type ink jet recording apparatus, when a voltage is preliminarily applied to ink to adjust the width of ink raises, a dedicated drive circuit has been necessary or dedicated electrodes have been necessary for forming the ink raises. According to a recording apparatus of the present invention, machining such as chamfering or steps is provided to a support body having a slit-like opening portion or, alternatively, a surface treatment such as coating an oil repellent solvent to a portion to be machined. Due to such a constitution, the width of the ink raises in the lateral direction of the opening portions can be made constant without using a method such as an electric driving so that a stable printing of dots is ensured. Further, by increasing the ink raise width in the vicinity of a central portion of the opening portion than at end portions of the opening portion, it becomes possible to prevent the diameter of dots to be printed from becoming non-uniform in the longitudinal direction of the opening portion.

Recording head and image recording apparatus utilizing said recording head

There is provided a recording apparatus capable of outputting an image which is not provided with nonuniformity of printing, stable and provided with high quality by realizing a recording head for maintaining a shape of a meniscus of ink always in a proper state without carrying out highly accurate back pressure control. Hence, a shape of front ends of base plates forming a slit-like opening portion is constituted by a shape of a wedge directing a sharpened front portion thereof to a recorded medium. Further, an inclined face portion in the shape of the wedge is subjected to a water repellant or an oil repellant processing. Or, there is constructed a constitution of providing an ink discharge mechanism for discharging extra ink at an end face portion at outside of a printing area of the base plate constituting the slit-like opening portion.

In an ink jet recording head for an ink jet recording apparatus, insulating members are arranged between adjacent ones of a plurality of recording electrodes so that electric discharge is made less likely to occur across the recording electrodes. Thus, even where the density of the recording electrodes in the head is set high in order to achieve high resolution, ink can be stably jetted. Further, the ink can be supplied to the front end of the head without increasing a static pressure which acts on the ink in such a manner that the insulating members are disposed only in the vicinities of the front ends of the recording electrodes while the discharge withstand voltage across the adjacent recording electrodes is increased.

Ink jet recording head, and ink jet recording apparatus employing the same

By manipulating a relative potential relationship of potentials by voltages applied to selected electrodes, nonselected electrodes and an opposed electrode,among a plurality of record electrodes,through,installed at vicinities of an opening portion,of a head, ink is injected, printing of high resolution is made possible and by using a dispersing type ink and changing polarities of the voltages applied to the opposed electrode,and the record electrodes, density of injected ink is made variable.

Ink recording head and ink injecting method using ink recording head

A recording unit has an illuminating device for projecting light on an original to form an original image, and an optical device which focuses the original image formed by the illuminating device. A light control plate has a slit for allowing a portion of the original image focused by the optical device to pass through. The light which passes through the slit of the light control plate is guided onto a print head which ejects ink on a recording medium when exposed to the light.
