An aqueous ink for ink jet, the aqueous ink including a pigment and a resin for dispersing the pigment. The pigment is impregnated with a compound having a structure in which at least two structures each represented by General Formula (1) are bonded by a glycoside bond. 

Aqueous ink, ink cartridge, and ink jet recording method

An ink jet ink contains a polyurethane polymer and a self-dispersing pigment. The polyurethane polymer has units derived from a polyisocyanate, a polyol having no acid group, and a diol having an acid group. The molar ratio of the percentage of the urethane bond in the polyurethane polymer to the percentage of the urea bond in the polyurethane polymer is 85.0/15.0 or more and 100.0/0 or less. The ink jet ink may be capable of producing an image having high optical density, scratch resistance, and highlighter resistance, and which has excellent ink ejection stability and can reduce image deflection caused by face wetting.

The polyurethane polymer has units derived from a polyisocyanate, a polyether polyol having no acid group, and a diol having an acid group. The pigment is dispersed using a polymer other than the polyurethane polymer. The molar ratio of the percentage of the urethane bond in the polyurethane polymer to the percentage of the urea bond in the polyurethane polymer is 85.0/15.0 or more and 100.0/0 or less.

An ink jet ink contains a polyurethane polymer and a pigment. The polyurethane polymer has units derived from a polyisocyanate, a polyether polyol having no acid group, and a diol having an acid group. The pigment is dispersed using a polymer other than the polyurethane polymer. The ratio of the percentage of the urethane bond in the polyurethane polymer to the percentage of the urea bond in the polyurethane polymer is 85.0/15.0 or more and 98.5/1.5 or less.

An image sensing element having a high refractive index part that covers at least a portion of each of a plurality of photoelectric converters arranged in one or two dimensions and a low refractive index part provided on the periphery of the high refractive index part. The interface between the high refractive index part and the low refractive index part has a surface that is substantially parallel to the optical axis of an image sensing lens and a slanted surface having an angle that differs from that of the parallel surface. The slanted surface is disposed on a portion of a surface near the optical axis of the image sensing lens, the portion being on a side that light rays from the image sensing lens enters the image sensing element.
