A junction box comprises small size standard boxes. The small size standard box includes a main casing that contains many longitudinal bus bars disposed in parallel with one another at a given interval in distance therein, and male and female coupling portions provided on the outer opposite side surfaces of the main casing. Plural small size standard boxes are juxtaposed together in accordance with different kinds of automobile vehicles by interconnecting the male and female coupling portions successively. A lower casing member is attached to the main casing. The size of the lower casing member depends on the number of the standard boxes to be coupled for a special purpose. The lower casing member is provided with an attachment portion for a vehicle body projecting from the member.

Connector for a circuit board

A connector includes a vibration preventing piece is provided on the side surface of a connecting section between an elongated tab-shaped contact section provided at one end of a connecting terminal and a locking section at the middle, in such a manner that it is flush with the side surface of the locking section and extended towards the tab-shaped contact section. A contact recess is formed in the contact section engaging hole which is formed in the contact section engaging hole which is formed in a housing, so that, when the connecting terminal is inserted into the terminal accommodating chamber, the vibration preventing piece of the connecting terminal is abutted against the contact recess in the contact engaging hole.

Connector with a terminal deflection preventing mechanism

A locking structure of a cap-member to a cylindrical body, being capable of giving sufficient resilience to a locking arm formed on the cap-member, is provided, which consists of: a resilient locking arm provided on a peripheral wall of the cap-member in a peripheral direction thereof; and an engaging groove provided on the cylindrical body for engaging the locking arm simultaneously with fitting of the cap-member on the cylindrical body. The locking arm is provided with an engaging projection projecting from a free end portion thereof toward a longitudinal axis of the cap-member and having a tapered surface inclined in a fitting direction of the cap-member and an engaging plane on a back of the tapered surface to engage the engaging groove. A plurality of the locking arms are arranged on the peripheral wall of the cap-member. The locking structure may further include an annular sealing member to be retained between the cap-member and a holder body formed continuously from the cylindrical body. The cap-member is axially fixed to the cylindrical body by means of the engaging plane of the locking arm and an annular plane inside the cap-member. Thus, a locking structure capable of easily and surely locking the cap-member to the cylindrical body can be realized.

Cap-member

A shielded connector for connecting a braided covering of a shielded wire to a metallic case of an apparatus, the shielded connector including a connector housing made of metal composed of an attaching section for directly attaching the connector to the metallic case and a cylindrical body. In the shielded connector, a cylindrical conductive short-circuit piece is clamped to the braided covering of the shielded wire, so that the short-circuit piece can be contacted with the connector housing when the shielded wire is inserted into the connector housing, and both can be electrically connected and fixed to each other.

A shielded connector for direct installation for a device includes an insulating housing body; a flange of the insulating housing body, which is to be assembled with a device so that the insulating housing body is shield-connected to the device, the flange being entirely covered with a conductive plated layer; and a conductive contact plate deposited on the conductive plated layer on the first principal surface side of the flange and having an elastic contact piece to be brought into contact with the device on the second principal surface side of the flange. In this configuration, the flange of the housing body can be surely connected to the device for its grounding.

Shielded connector for direct installation for device

A combined connector including a base housing for receiving metal terminals, and a sub-housing which is inserted in the base housing to be combined therewith, the sub-housing including a cover for closing an open portion of terminal receiving grooves for receiving metal terminals. There is provided a combination-confirming mechanism by which it can be confirmed by the closing of the terminal receiving grooves by the cover of the sub-housing, combined with the base housing, that the sub-housing is properly inserted in and combined with the base housing. Therefore, an incompletely-combined condition can be positively prevented.

Combined connector

A connector including a housing which includes terminal receiving grooves in which metal terminals are inserted and received, respectively, from one insertion opening, an upper wall closing upper sides of the terminal receiving grooves, and retaining holes formed in the upper wall in such a manner that the inside and outside of each terminal receiving groove communicate with each other through the associated retaining hole, and a flexible retaining arm, formed on and projecting from the metal terminal, is retainingly engaged in the retaining hole. In the connector, outer grooves are formed in an outer surface of the upper wall, and extend from a fitting face of the housing (for fitting in a mating connector) toward the insertion opening, and inner grooves are formed in an inner surface of the upper wall, and extend from the insertion opening toward the fitting face, and that end of each of the inner grooves close to the fitting face communicates with that end of the associated outer groove close to the insertion opening in a direction of a thickness of the upper wall, thereby forming the retaining hole.

Method for injection molding a connector

A terminal assembling structure includes a terminal metal fitting having a tinning layer on a surface thereof, a connecting portion overlapped with the terminal metal fitting, and a fastening member fastening the terminal metal fitting and the connecting portion. An adhesion phenomenon of metal is generated between the terminal metal fitting and the connecting portion by the fastening of the terminal member.

Terminal assembling structure and method

A connector in which the deformation of lock portions is prevented, and the connector can have a compact design, and housings are prevented from being displaced with respect to each other in both longitudinal and transverse directions. Transverse grooves of a dovetail shape are formed respectively in widthwise opposite ends of an upper surface of a lower housing at a front end portion thereof, and longitudinal grooves of a dovetail shape are formed in a widthwise central portion of this upper surface. Transverse ribs of a dovetail shape are formed respectively at widthwise opposite ends of a lower surface of an upper housing at a front end portion thereof, and longitudinal grooves of a dovetail shape are formed on a widthwise central portion of this lower surface. The transverse ribs are greater in projecting height than the longitudinal ribs. When the ribs are press-fitted respectively into the associated grooves, the two housings are locked together. When an external force of above a predetermined level is applied so as to separate the two housings from each other, the ribs are withdrawn respectively from the grooves, thereby disconnecting the two housings from each other.

Block connector

A connector is provided to prevent an increase of stresses in soldered portions between terminals and a circuit board during thermal expansion. Terminals 11 are mounted in a housing 10 and are positioned by an alignment plate 12 for mounting in holes H of a circuit board P. Movable holding portions 17, which are elastically deformable, are formed in a plate main body 13 of the alignment plate 12. The movable holding portions 17 are connected with the plate main body 13 via connection portions 18. Positioning holes 15 for aligning the terminals 11 are formed in each movable holding portion 17. Even if the plate main body 13 is displaced with respect to the circuit board P due to thermal expansion with the terminals 11 fitted in and soldered to connection holes of the circuit board P, such a relative displacement is corrected by the elastic deformation of the movable holding portions 17 and the connection portions 18 and, accordingly, the positioning holes 15 are held in specified positions with respect to the connection holes. Therefore, there is no likelihood that stresses in the soldered portions increase due to the displacement of the positioning holes 15 with respect to the connection holes.

A switch-equipped connector device, comprises: a case having an opening; a cover to be removably mounted on the case so as to cover the opening; a first connection terminal on the side of load and a second connection terminal on the side of a power supply, a connection portion between which is exposed from the opening, and which are held in the case; a short-circuiting terminal attached to the cover; a switch connector located in said opening, the switch connector to be electrically connected to the short-circuiting terminal in the opening, the short-circuiting terminal being disconnected from said switch connector when the cover is removed from the case; and a switching device connected to the second connection terminal through the power supply, the switching device interrupting power supply to the second connection terminal when the cover is removed from the case. In the above configuration, the switching device is operated when the short-circuiting terminal is electrically disengaged from the switch connector in a removed state of the cover so that power supply to the second connection terminal is interrupted. Therefore, when the cover is detached from the case for maintenance of the connector device, an operator can remove the connection terminal on the side of a power supply with safety without receiving electric shock.

Connector and method for manufacturing the same

A short-circuit terminal fitting 30 is provided with a protection wall 35 to prevent deformation of elastic contact portions due to interference by other members and to prevent excessive deformation of the elastic contact portions due to an excessive pressing displacement of a lock arm. The protection wall 35 is so formed as to surround the leading free ends of elastic contact portions 32 which are fixed at one end thereof and hanging at the other end thereof. When the short-circuiting terminal fitting 30 is handled alone, the elastic contact portions 32 are unlikely to be interfered with by other members since they are surrounded by the protection wall 35 and, accordingly, the deformation of the elastic contact portions 32 due to interference by other members can be prevented. Further, the protection wall 35 prevents deformation of the elastic contact portions 32 that otherwise could be caused by a lock arm 21 engaging the elastic contact portion 32 when the fitting 30 is mounted in a female connector housing 20.

Short-circuiting terminal fitting and connector therefor

The stopper 70 is provided a seal press 71 for pressing the head portion 66 of an insulation seal member 60. The insulation seal member 60 is attached to the insulation seal mounting portion 7 such that the inner surface of the seal body 61 and the abutment face 67 of the head portion 66 are abutted against the outer surface and the end face of a tubular member 6, respectively, to press the head portion 66 of the insulation seal member 69 with the seal press 71 of the stopper 70 and hold the head portion 66 between the end face of the tubular member 6 and the seal press 71 of the stopper 70.
