An electrical connector box constructed to prevent inaccurate insertion of a short circuit forming terminal to the contacts of an internal circuit. A shorting terminal includes a conductor plate having multiple tabs extending from a link portion, the link portion being covered by a cover, and a post that extends in the same direction as the tabs. A relay receptacle includes a post aperture into which post member of cover is inserted, thus allowing the tabs to enter specified terminal slots of the relay receptacle.

Electrical connector box

An electrical connector housing includes a first shell mountable on a second shell. The first shell is provided with connector mounts to be fit with connectors, fuse mounts to be fit with fuses and relay mounts to be fit with relays. The electrical connector housing contains a busbar stack which includes a connector circuitry module containing connector-connecting circuits, a fuse circuitry module containing fuse-connecting circuits, and a relay circuitry module containing relay-connecting circuits. In this manner, only the busbars contained in the fuse-connecting circuits and those contained in the relay-connecting circuits can be formed of a copper alloy which is harder than pure copper. As a result, the busbar terminals of the fuse-and relay-connecting circuits can be connected directly to the fuse and the relays, respectively. The electrical connector housing thus configured has a simple structure, and can be constructed without increasing costs.

Electrical connector housing

Busbars to be connected with a pair of terminals of a fuse are formed from one conductive plate and thus can be arranged in the same layer in an electrical connection box. First and second busbars 13, 14 to be connected with a pair of terminals 11, 12 of a fuse 10 have coplanar base plates 13a, 14a. Bent portions 13b, 14b are provided at the leading ends of the respective base plates 13a, 14a and also are coplanar. Distant side edges of the bent portions 13b, 14b are provided with folded portions 13c, 14c which are parallel with each other and with the side surfaces of the base plates 13a, 14a. Slits 13d, 14d are formed by making cuts from the upper ends of the opposite folded portions 13c, 14c, so that the pair of terminals 11, 12 of the fuse 10 can be pressed into the slits 13d 14d to connect the fuse electrically with the busbars. The first and second busbars 13, 14 are formed by punching one conductive plate and are arranged in the same layer inside a casing. Furthermore the invention relates to a method for forming a terminal of connection busbars.

Electrical connection box and a method for forming terminals

To reduce the number of components contained in an electric junction box, an electric junction box containing a bus bar therein includes a connecting area formed integrally on a portion of the bus bar while a complimentary connecting area provided on the lower case cooperates with the connecting area of the bus bar. The bus bar is arranged on the upper surface of the lower case with the connecting areas firmly fastened to each other, with the bus bar being directly fastened to the lower case. The upper cover is placed on and fastened to the lower case while the bus bar is connected to the lower case, thereby making the use of an upper case unnecessary.
