A structure for introducing an optical cable into a communication apparatus includes an adapter (,) to be affixed to a side wall (,) forming a part of the casing (,) of the apparatus. A case (,) is fitted in a bore axially extending throughout the center of the adapter (,). A ring nut assembly (,) holds an optical cable (,) at its center and is connected to the adapter (,) in such a manner as to cover the case (,). The cable (,) includes a tension merber (,) introduced into the casing (,) via the case (,) and adapter (,) and affixed by a tension member affixing portion (,) disposed in the casing (,). In this condition, the cable (,) is firmly affixed by the ring nut assembly (,) and tension member affixing portion (,), i.e., at two points. The fibers of the cable (,) are therefore free from breakage ascribable to a twisting force or a pulling force.

Optical cable introducing structure and method of introducing and connecting an optical cable

A coaxial repeater of the present invention includes a connector having an L shaped metal piece 1 and an insulating casing 2. The connector is mounted in an introducing hole 3a-1 provided in a casing 3. A connecting portion 8a of an amplifier portion 8 is electrically connected to one of protrusions of the connector and a center conductor 4a-1 of an adapter 4-1 is fitted in and electrically connected to the other protrusion of the connector. The introducing hole 3a-1 becomes a space 3g-1 when the adapter 4a-1 and the amplifier portion 8 are mounted. The space 3g-1 is shielded from a receiving space 3b of the casing 3. With the coaxial repeater constructed as mentioned above, it is possible to improve electrical characteristics of a device operating in a high frequency band, facilitate the maintenance thereof, reduce the number of parts thereof and reduce the cost of parts.

Coaxial repeater

The invention realizes a CATV repeater which has a reduced distance from a coaxial connector of a coaxial cable to a receptacle on a printed circuit board of an amplifier to prevent deterioration of the high frequency characteristic and besides facilitates connection and is tough against an outdoor environment. Receptacle 32 of amplification device 30 can be inserted into guide metal member 11 of body case 10, and the core of receptacle 32 is connected to core 21 of coaxial connector 20 of a coaxial cable by L-shaped connection pin 13. L-shaped connection pin 13 includes connection pin 13b having, at an end thereof, a cylindrical pin to be fitted with the receptacle of the amplifier and having, at the other end thereof, a U-shaped portion, and connection pin 13a having, at an end portion thereof, a hollow cylindrical portion with a pair of slits on the coaxial cable side and having, at the other end portion thereof, a cylindrical connection portion with ring-shaped projections with which the positioning of the U-shaped portion of connection pin 13b is set in a limited position.
