Provided is a rectangular secondary cell enabling seal performance of a gasket to be improved with a simple structure without enlarging a shaft of a terminal. A rectangular secondary cell according to the present invention includes a cell can housing a winding group and having an opening portion, a lid provided with a positive electrode terminal electrically connected to the winding group and closing the opening portion, and a gasket having an interposed portion interposed between the lid and a lower surface of the positive electrode terminal. In the gasket, an external shape of the interposed portion is smaller than an external shape of the lower surface of the positive electrode terminal.

Rectangular secondary battery

A prismatic secondary battery includes a battery case in a prismatic shape and a battery cover which seals up an opening part of the battery case. The battery cover has a convex part which projects toward the inside of the battery case, faces an inner surface of a side wall part of the battery case, and extends continuously along the entire periphery of the side wall part. Cover thickness of a contact part of the battery cover which is in contact with the upper end of the side wall part of the battery case at a position outside the convex part is greater than &#xbd; of cover thickness of a blockage part blocking up an opening part at a position inside the convex part and is less than the cover thickness of the blockage part.

Prismatic secondary battery

An electric storage device includes a container which houses an electric generating element, and a sealing plug which seals a liquid injecting hole into which an electrolyte is injected. The liquid injecting hole is provided in a bottom surface of a recessed portion provided to be recessed on one side surface of the container. The sealing plug includes an inserting portion to be inserted into the liquid injecting hole and a fitting portion to be fitted into the recessed portion. At least either a rim portion of the fitting portion or an opening rim portion of the recessed portion is provided with a plurality of plastic deformation portions. In each of n regions (n is an integer of at least 3) into which an outer circumference of the fitting portion or an inner circumference of the recessed portion is equally divided, one or more of the plastic deformation portion(s) is/are arranged, and, in each of regions into which the outer circumference of the fitting portion or the inner circumference of the recessed portion is halved with an arbitrary plastic deformation portion out of the plastic deformation portions set as a starting point, one or more of the plastic deformation portion(s) is/are arranged. An outer circumferential side surface of the fitting portion and an inner circumferential side surface of the recessed portion are welded over an entire circumference.

Electric storage device and method for manufacturing electric storage device

A rechargeable battery includes a battery pack, a battery lid, and an electrode and an external terminal connected by an electricity connector. A laminated portion of the electrodes comprising a lump of wound electrodes is separated into two bundle electrode connecting portions from a center side of the wound electrodes in the thickness direction outward of the battery pack. The electricity collector is provided with a main plate joined to the bundles, a rib plate bent from the main plate and extending outward of the battery pack, a mounting plate extending along the inside of the battery lid, and a connecting plate bent from of the mounting plate and extending toward a bottom surface of the battery pack. A coupling plate is inclined from this bottom end of the connecting plate toward the bundles and is coupled to one end of a joint plate on the battery lid side.

Rechargeable battery

A wound electrode body is fabricated by laminating and winding positive and negative electrode sheets together with a separator therebetween for insulation. On both positive and negative electrode side ends of the wound electrode body, laminates of current-collecting foil layered portions of the electrode sheets are bent or folded f toward the outer peripheral side to be separated into two. The separated laminates and forked connector leaves are overlapped and clamped between an ultrasonic chip and an anvil. Then, they are welded. The forked connector leaves are arranged such that no opposing forked connector leaf is present in the direction of a line normal to the forked connector leaf, so that the anvil does not have to be cantilevered. This allows welding by using the ultrasonic chip and the anvil without interfering with the collector rs. As a result, the quality of welding is improved.

Prismatic cell and production method for the same

A secondary cell includes: an electrode roll in which a positive foil on which a positive-electrode material is coated and a negative foil on which a negative-electrode material is coated are winded through a separator into a flat shape around a winding core; a case in which the electrode roll is housed; a cover which seals the case; a positive terminal and a negative terminal provided on the cover; a positive electrode current collector plate that is electrically connected to the positive foil of the electrode roll and the positive terminal and held by the cover; and a negative electrode current collector plate that is electrically connected to the negative foil of the electrode roll and the negative terminal and held by the cover. The positive electrode current collector plate and the negative electrode current collector plate are each connected to the winding core.
