An apparatus and a method of producing a high density fiber reinforced composite material operate for lowering the porosity of a porous fiber reinforced composite material. A large number of particles arranged in a reaction tube are pushed up by the pressure of gases flowing from a gas inlet port toward a gas outlet port to enter floating states and to collide with the porous fiber reinforced composite material which is fixed in the reaction tube. In this state, matricies are formed in pores of the porous fiber reinforced composite material through chemical vapor infiltration. The large number of floating particles prevent an adhesion between the surface of the porous fiber reinforced composite material and blocking with soot, while preventing the pores from blocking with soot.

A process for producing a superconducting article having a layer of compound oxide of quasi-perovskite type oxide crystal structure by electrodeposition technique. The process is characterized by dispersing a material powder in a liquid containing a carrier, driving ionized material particles towards a substrate by applying a direct current between a substrate and a counter electrode, and then sintering a thin layer of powders deposited on the substrate to convert the deposited powders to a superconducting compound oxide.

A friction brake of a type which comprises at least one friction element and a counter-friction element frictionally engageable with the friction element. One of the friction and counter-friction elements is made of carbon and the other of the friction and counter-friction elements is comprised of at least two first and second portions both engageable simultaneously with such one of the friction and counter-friction elements during a braking operation. A friction material composite especially suitable for an electromagnetic clutch, includes a reinforcing fiber material, optionally an organic filler, an inorganic filler, and a friction and abrasion conditioner bonded together by a thermosetting resin binder. The reinforcing fiber material contains 25 to 35 percent by volume of staple cellulose pulp of not more than 150 .mu.m in fiber length. The organic filler contains 30 to 40 percent by weight of an organic filler material of not more than 840 .mu.m in maximum grain size. The friction and abrasion conditioner contains and 0.5 to 5 percent by volume of aluminum oxide and/or magnesium oxide of not more than 250 .mu.m in maximum grain size. The material composite has a porosity in the range of 15 to 30 percent by volume.

A process for producing a medical resin material comprising the steps of (a) adding and dispersing a porous powder containing a pharmaceutical solution in the fine pores thereof to a solution of a polyvinyl chloride resin which is prepared by uniformly dissolving a polyvinyl chloride resin into an organic solvent, thereby preparing a uniform mixed solution; (b) shaping by utilizing the flow property of the mixed solution; and (c) solidifying the shaped mixed solution by evaporizing to remove the organic solvent.

An antithrombic resin composition comprising is disclosed which comprises synthetic resin having dispersed therein a solution obtained by dissolving an anticoagulant in a solvent. The composition may additionally comprises dispersed therein at least one member of the group consisting of (i) an inorganic substance pulverized to an average particle diameter of not more than 0.1 mm, (ii) a water-absorbing resin powder, and (iii) water-absorbing resin fibers. The resin composition has lasting antithrombic effects and has antithrombic property not merely on the surface of the resin but also throughout the entire resin interior.
