A glow plug with combustion pressure sensor having a plug body having a screw portion on the outer peripheral surface that is inserted into a screw hole of an engine head and screw-connected to it, a combustion pressure sensor fixed to the plug body to which the plug body is inserted, and a lead wire for leading out the sensor signal connected to the sensor, wherein the outside diameter of a hexagonal portion used for screw connection between the plug body and the screw hole out of the plug body is smaller than the inside diameter of a through hole of the combustion pressure sensor so that the plug body can be inserted into the combustion pressure sensor from the hexagonal portion end.

A gas tight and simplified glow plug includes a combustion pressure sensor. The plug main body includes a cylindrical housing to be mounted in an engine head with one end side positioned at a combustion chamber side of the engine head. A cylindrical sheath tube is held in the housing with one end side exposed from the one end of the housing. A heating coil is received and held in the sheath tube. A central shaft acts as a rod-like electrode having one end side received in the sheath tube and an other end side exposed from other end of housing. Glow plug having a combustion pressure sensor

In an installation structure of a glow plug with a combustion pressure sensor, a seat surface is provided in an installation hole formed in the engine so as to penetrate from outside into a combustion chamber of the engine. A contact surface is formed in the glow plug. The glow plug is partly inserted into the installation hole and is fixed via a ring shaped gasket to the engine so that the glow plug comes in pressurized contact with the engine in an axial direction of the installation hole. With the installation structure mentioned above, the elastic member is elastically more deformable in an axial direction of the installation hole than a portion of the glow plug on which the combustion pressure sensor is mounted.

An air-supply module including an air cleaner case, a throttle body, a surge tank, manifold pipes and other components is integrated into one single unit. The module is mounted as a whole on an internal combustion engine by simply connecting a flange formed at an eigne side end of the manifold pipes to intake ports of the engine. Bolts sticking out of the intake ports are inserted into mounting holes formed on the flange, and nuts are screwed onto the bolts by a nut runner. The mounting holes on the flange are located between the manifold pipes so that the nut runner can reach the nuts directly from the outside of the module without disassembling any components already assembled into the module. Other components including the air cleaner case are disposed in the module to secure a tool space and not to interfere with the mounting operation.
