A vehicle system includes a radar mounted on a front part of a vehicle, a camera mounted within a vehicle interior of the vehicle, and an electronic control unit (ECU). The ECU is configured to detect an object in front of the vehicle based on radar information from the radar and image information from the camera. The ECU is configured to detect a collision of the vehicle with an obstacle based on a frontal collision signal. The ECU is configured to detect the object using the image information, without using the radar information, after detecting the collision.

A vehicle control apparatus that performs driving assist control on an entrance ramp or an exit ramp connected to a main road having a different safe cruising speed limit than the entrance ramp or the exit ramp. The control apparatus includes a broken line detecting device that detects a broken line marked on the road and divides the main road and the entrance ramp or the exit ramp and a controller that determines a control zone of the driving assist control based on the broken line detection results from the broken line detecting device. For example, the vehicle control apparatus detects the broken line that divides a main road and an exit ramp using the broken line detecting device and starts driving assist control using the controller when it is detected that an accelerator pedal has been released.

Vehicle control apparatus and vehicle control method

A vehicular brake control method and apparatus having a controller that controls a pressure of a supplied operating fluid to the wheels. The vehicle brake control apparatus includes brakes that apply braking forces corresponding to the pressure of the operating fluid to the wheels. A pump is provided that force-feeds the operating fluid. A valve is disposed to adjust the pressure of the operating fluid that is force-fed from the pump. The controller performs an operation control of the pump and the valve to control the pressure of the operating fluid to be supplied to the brakes when the controller determines that the braking forces are to be applied to the vehicle. The controller controls a pressure-increasing gradient of a fluid pressure by controlling both the pump and the valve during a pressure-increasing control for increasing the pressure in the brakes.

Vehicular brake control method and apparatus

In a vehicular braking control apparatus and method, the hydraulic pressure on a wheel cylinder is gradually reduced with a relatively gentle gradient of reduction (k ) at the time when a braking operation member, operated by an operating person of the vehicle, is detected to have been operated to a predetermined position. At the time when a state of the braking operation is detected to have reached a predetermined threshold, the hydraulic pressure on the wheel cylinder is reduced with a relatively great gradient of reduction (k ). Therefore, it is possible to reduce vibrations of a brake pedal or the change in deceleration while adopting a relatively simple construction.

Vehicular braking control apparatus and control method thereof

A brake control apparatus comprising a brake fluid pressure sensor for detecting the brake fluid pressure of the wheel cylinder for a braking system. That is, the brake fluid pressure sensor detects the condition of braking. The brake fluid pressure is controlled. The brake fluid pressure is increased based on a predetermined pressure increase gradient in the initial stage of the automatic braking, and is decreased based on a predetermined pressure decrease gradient in the latter stage of the automatic braking.

A first signal is obtained by detecting speed of wheels of a vehicle to indicate the wheel speed. On the other hand, a second signal is obtained by detecting longitudinal acceleration to directly indicate longitudinal acceleration of the vehicle. A third signal indicating the change rate of the wheel speed is obtained by differentiating the first signal by time. The third signal is sensitive to a small convex or concave of the road surface but not sensitive to a longitudinal inclination of the road surface. The second signal is not sensitive to a small convex or concave of the road surface but is sensitive to a longitudinal inclination of the road surface. Then, a fourth signal is obtained from the second signal by filtering low frequency components off therefrom, while a fifth signal is obtained from the third signal by filtering high frequency components off therefrom. Then, a final longitudinal acceleration signal is obtained by composing the fourth and fifth signals together. It will be desirable that a cutoff frequency of the low pass filtering is lowered when a brake locking has occurred.
