A dual bearing reel includes a spool having a bobbin trunk and first and second flanges, a spool shaft including a first supported portion on a first flange side and a second supported portion on a second flange side, and the spool shaft configured to integrally rotate with the spool, a reel body including a first body portion rotatably supporting the first supported portion and a second body portion rotatably supporting the second supported portion; a level-wind mechanism to move a fishing line guide along an axial direction of the spool shaft in reciprocating fashion in conjunction with the rotation of the spool, a first braking unit disposed in the first body portion facing the first flange and configured to brake the rotation of the spool, and a rotation transmission mechanism in the second body portion and configured to transmit the rotation of the spool to the level-wind mechanism.

Dual-bearing reel

A spool braking device includes a brake drum and a rotation structure. The brake drum is disposed in a reel body and positioned alongside a spool in an axial direction. The rotation structure is arranged between the spool and the brake drum in the axial direction. The rotation structure has a support, a brake shoe, and a biasing member. The support rotates in accordance with a spool shaft. The brake shoe has a center of gravity arranged outside of the brake drum in a radial direction. The brake shoe is configured to contact a tapered surface of the brake drum. The biasing member biases one of the support or the brake drum towards another one of the support or the brake drum. The one of the support or the brake drum is movable in the axial direction with respect to the another one of the support or the brake drum.

Spool braking device for dual bearing reel

A fishing reel includes a reel body, a first shaft member, a second shaft member, a rolling element, and an outer member. The first shaft member is rotatably supported by the reel body. The second shaft member is connected to an end of the first shaft member in an axial direction of the first shaft member. The second shaft member rotates integrally with the first shaft member. The rolling element contacts the second shaft member in a radial direction away from an axial center of the first shaft member. The outer member is disposed outside the rolling element in the radial direction. The outer member rotates integrally with the second shaft member only in one direction along a circumferential direction around the axial center of the first shaft member.

Fishing reel

A one-way clutch unit for a fishing reel is disclosed. The one-way clutch is configured to brake a rotation of a shaft member of the fishing reel. The one-way clutch includes a rolling element and an outer member. The rolling element contacts the shaft member in a radial direction away from an axle of the shaft member. The outer member is disposed outside the rolling element in the radial direction. The outer member is configured to rotate in only one direction along a circumferential direction around the axle. The outer member includes a first external force receiving portion that receives a first external force in an axial direction of the shaft member.
