According to the present invention, there is provided an apparatus () for providing information, the apparatus including an acquisition unit () that acquires a captured image obtained by imaging the vicinity of a display; an image analysis unit () that detects a position on the display, which is being viewed by a person extracted from the captured image; and a control unit () that divides a display area of the display into multiple sub-areas, displays content on each of the multiple sub-areas, and makes a change to the displaying on the sub-area that is being viewed by the person extracted from the captured image.

A wireless terminal can communicate with a first network of first type and a second network of second different type. The wireless terminal performs a packet-domain attachment to the first network and initiates a ready timer indicating that the wireless terminal is in an attached state and has recently sent data to the first network. The wireless terminal initiates an inter-system change from the first network to the second network whereby the wireless terminal becomes registered to the second network. Advantageously the wireless terminal has means for rendering the ready timer ineffective when the inter-system change is performed. The network apparatus has means for initiating its own ready timer dependent on the attachment occurring, this ready timer also indicating that the wireless terminal is in an attached state and has recently sent data to the first network.

Wireless terminal and method of operating

As a result of ISR being enabled between a portable terminal device and a network which are capable of communicating by using the communication protocols of a plurality of wireless access technologies, the portable terminal device performs position registration processing between the plurality of wireless access technologies and the portable terminal device each time a fixed period of time elapses, and the portable terminal device is able to move between the plurality of wireless access technologies that have already been registered, without conducting new position registration processing. At this time, if there is a possibility of there being a difference in ISR states (activated or not activated) between the portable terminal device and the network, the portable terminal device ignores any instructions issued by the network for ISR to be enabled in the portable terminal device.

Radio access system and portable terminal device

A wireless terminal can communicate with two radio access networks (RAN) () of different types. The wireless terminal can register simultaneously with a RAN of the first type and a RAN of the second type and can wirelessly connect to a RAN of either the first type or the second type in a connected state. The wireless terminal when registered with both a first RAN and a second RAN and when wirelessly connected to the first RAN in the connected state, receives a mobility signal via the first RAN indicating a RAN of the second type and, in response to receiving the mobility signal and in response to being so registered with the first RAN and second RAN, transmits an access trigger signal (). The access trigger signal indicates that the wireless terminal is to be connected to the second RAN in the connected state.

Intersystem change between different radio access networks

As a result of ISR being enabled between a portable terminal device and a network which are capable of communicating by using the communication protocols of a plurality of wireless access technologies, the portable terminal device-performs position registration processing between the plurality of wireless access technologies and the portable terminal device each time a fixed period of time elapses, and the portable terminal device is able to move between the plurality of wireless access technologies that have already been registered, without conducting new position registration processing. A communication device () includes a communication IF () transmits and receives, in a layer 2, a packet having a structure that does not include a MAC address; a TCP/IP processing unit () transmits and receives a packet in a TCP/IP layer; and a switch () performs processing on the packet received by the communication IF () and the TCP/IP processing unit (). When the switch () performs processing for transmitting, from the TCP/IP processing unit (), the packet received by the communication IF (), a pseudo MAC header is added to the packet and the packet is output to the TCP/IP processing unit (). Communication device and communication method

In one embodiment, a mobile station () is capable of performing location registration procedures with first and second mobile management units (and) that respectively correspond to first and second RANs (Radio Access Networks). Further, the mobile station () supports ISR (Idle mode Signalling reduction) for reducing location registration procedures caused by reselection between the first RAN () and the second RAN (). Furthermore, the mobile station () is configured to deactivate ISR in the mobile station () when voice service configuration information stored in the mobile station () is updated when the ISR is activated.
