A foreign matter detection device includes an ion sensor arranged in the interior of a feed axis motor. The ion sensor is formed so as to detect an ion contained in a cutting liquid. A machine controller judges whether an ion concentration is within a judgment range related to the cutting liquid based on output of the ion sensor, and judges that the cutting liquid has penetrated into the interior of the feed axis motor when the ion concentration is within the judgment range related to the cutting liquid.

The rotor includes a shaft; a core having a core hole penetrating the core in an axial direction; a rod configured to be inserted into the core hole so as to protrude from one end surface of the core in the axial direction to the one side in the axial direction; a balancer weight having a weight hole and placed on the end surface with the rod inserted into the weight hole; and a fixing member having a fixing hole and coming into contact with the balancer weight from the one side in the axial direction with the rod inserted into the fixing hole to fix the balancer weight by sandwiching the balancer weight with the end surface.

A rotor includes a shaft and a tubular rotor member which is fixed to the outside of the shaft in the radial direction. The shaft has a first part which contacts an inner circumferential surface of the rotor member, a second part which is arranged separated from the first part in the axial direction and which contacts an inner circumferential surface of the rotor member, a third part which extends between the first part and the second part and which has an outer diameter smaller than the first part and the second part, and a projection which extends from the third part to the outside in the radial direction and which contacts the inner circumferential surface of the rotor member.
