An airbag device including: a folded airbag; an attachment member configured to house the folded airbag and to be fixed to the vehicle; and an airbag lid including a main body portion and a protruding support portion. The main body portion is connected to the attachment member in a state of covering the folded airbag from a side opposite to the attachment member. The protruding support portion protrudes from the main body portion. At least a part of the protruding support portion is covered by the trim. The protruding support portion includes: a base end side edge portion joined to the main body portion; a tip end side edge portion provided on a side opposite to the base end side edge portion; a locking portion attaching to the trim; and a reinforcing portion provided continuously along the tip end side edge portion.

Airbag device

The curtain airbag device includes: an inflator; an airbag; and a restricting member. The airbag includes an outer circumferential joining portion forming a bag body, a gas inlet portion, and a joining portion which is arranged in a region surrounded by the outer circumferential joining portion. The airbag, while being stored in a folded state, includes a roll folding portion formed by folding the bag body into a roll shape with a vehicle interior side base fabric facing outside, and a flip folding portion formed by folding back the bag body with the vehicle interior side base fabric facing inside. The restricting member includes a tip portion fixed to a lower side of a sidewall of a vehicle, and a base end portion joined to a vehicle exterior side base fabric located at the flip folding portion or an upper end portion of the roll folding portion.

Curtain airbag device

A side airbag device includes an inflator and an airbag. The airbag includes a deployable bag and a separator that separates the bag into a first chamber and a second chamber. The first chamber includes a support inflation portion and a protection inflation portion. The support inflation portion is deployable in such a shape that it gradually broadens from its lower end portion toward its upper end portion along a seat-side portion. The protection inflation portion is deployable at one end side of the support inflation portion. The inflator is disposed to supply a gas into the support inflation portion. The separator includes at least one gas distribution hole in a portion thereof that separates the support inflation portion of the first chamber and the second chamber from each other. The second chamber is provided below the first chamber.

Side airbag device

A side airbag device () protects the passenger () in the lateral space (). The airbag () has an attaching portion () attached to a side section () of a seat (), and is folded so as to be able to deploy from the side section () toward the lateral space (). The inflator () generates gas and thereby deploys the airbag () to a leading end portion () in the deployment direction (F). The airbag () has a bellows-like folded section in which a part () between the leading end portion () and the attaching portion () is folded in a bellows-like shape. The bellows-like folded section is disposed in front of the attaching portion () in the deployment direction (F), and is folded double toward the back of the deployment direction (F) so that a portion () close to the attaching portion () is positioned therein.

The operation efficiency is improved by enabling a gas rectifying member of an airbag device to be easily disposed in a folded airbag. An airbag in a folded state is accommodated around an inflator of an airbag device, and a gas rectifying member () for guiding gas is disposed between the airbag and the inflator surrounded by the airbag. The gas rectifying member () includes a retained portion (A) retained, together with the airbag, around the inflator and a free-standing tubular gas-flow guide portion (B) standing upright from the retained portion (A), which are formed as a single part from a base fabric. The airbag is folded in a state in which the retained portion (A) is retained inside the airbag. At this time, the gas-flow guide portion (B) is less likely to be sandwiched between the airbag, because it is standing in the airbag.

There are provided an airbag folding device, and an airbag folding method, for mechanically folding an airbag to form a doughnut-shaped airbag. The airbag folding device is characterized in comprising a support member () columnar in shape, rising while supporting a tubular tether belt (), an outer cylinder () coaxial with the support member (), for containing the airbag body () on the outside of the support member (), by rising, a work table () having the support member (), and the outer cylinder (), and a clamping member () positioned straight above the support member (), for clamping the tubular tether belt () between the clamping member () and the support member (), wherein a pair of plates () in such a state as to cover an upper end of the outer cylinder (), and to be fitted to a lower end of the clamping member () cause the support member (), the outer cylinder () and the clamping member () to concurrently descend.

Airbag folding device and airbag folding method

There is provided an airbag device being excellent in performance of protection of an occupant wherein a folded airbag () undergoes sequential and orderly expansion starting from a region where the expansion ought to be started. It is characterized in that a gas rectification member () for rectifying and guiding a gas generated from an inflator () up to the vicinity of a part of the airbag (), inflating in the initial stage of the expansion thereof, is provided substantially at the central part of the airbag ().

There is provided an airbag device for allowing a holding member to firmly hold an outer circumference part and a peripheral edge part of an airbag during the airbag assembling work and to reduce the assembling work time. The airbag device comprising a holding member () for holding an airbag () in a state as folded and contained therein, and pressing down a side face of the airbag () on the outer circumference thereof. The holding member () is made of a woven cloth, and an anticipated rupture part () to be ruptured by a gas generated from an inflator () is formed at the position corresponding to the part of the airbag (), inflating in the initial stage of the expansion thereof.

There is provided an airbag device being excellent in performance of protection of an occupant wherein a folded airbag () undergoes sequential and orderly expansion starting from a region where the expansion ought to be started. It is characterized in that a gas rectification member () for rectifying and guiding a gas generated from an inflator () up to the vicinity of a part of the airbag (), inflating in the initial expansion thereof, is provided substantially at the central part of the airbag ().

The invention improves efficiency in a work for assembling an airbag device () with an airbag cover (). A peripheral edge of the inflator attachment opening of the airbag () is secured to a cushion ring (), the airbag () integrally connected to the tip and a rear end of the tubular tether belt () is extended to its full and then pulled back thereby folding back the airbag () around the tubular tether belt () and folding the tubular tether belt () and the airbag () while being pulled back. Then, the tip of the tubular folded tether belt () is secured to a central part of the back side of the airbag cover () for containing the airbag () therein.

Method of assembling airbag device and airbag device

In an airbag device, a decorative member is prevented from being scattered with a simple structure at the time of expansion of an airbag. That is, a concave part of the airbag cover () on which the decorative member is mounted is connected to an unmoved connection member while freely separable from other portions at the time of expansion of an airbag. To that end, there are formed, on the inner faces of the airbag cover (), a circular tear line Lc for partitioning the concave part () and a plurality of tear lines Lextending outward from the tear line Lc in the radial direction thereof for forming each of opening pieces (). Further, attachment pieces () of respective opening pieces () are fastened to plastic deformable attachment parts of a base plate by screws. With this structure, the concave part of the airbag cover can be immovably held at the time of spread of the airbag.

There is provided an airbag device comprising electrical equipment disposed at the central part of a steering wheel, capable of connecting a harness to the electrical equipment while using the steering shaft, the inflator, and so forth, commonly in use, thereby alleviating work for manufacturing intricate components, and achieving reduction in component cost. The airbag device comprises an airbag cover () for housing an airbag () folded substantially at the central part of a steering wheel (R), and electrical equipment (M) disposed at a recessed part () of the airbag cover (), wherein a backside of the recessed part () of the airbag cover () is covered with a fixed end portion of a tubular tether belt () for constraining a distance up to which the airbag undergoes inflation and expansion, and a harness () is inserted into a harness insertion hole () provided at the fixed end portion, the harness being connected to an electrode member of the electrical equipment (M).
