A printing apparatus includes a conveyance unit configured to convey a print medium in a conveyance direction, a printing unit, a plurality of rotary members arrayed in the direction intersecting a conveyance direction on a downstream side of the printing unit in the conveyance direction and configured to regulate a height position of the print medium from above the print medium, a holding member configured to rotatably hold the plurality of rotary members, a base member configured to support the holding member, and an adjustment member configured to adjust a position of the holding member in a height direction with respect to the base member.

Printing apparatus

A printing apparatus includes a conveyance unit, a printing unit, a platen section facing the printing unit, a regulation unit arranged on a downstream side of the printing unit in the conveyance direction and configured to regulate a height position of the print medium, and a guide section arranged on a downstream side of the platen section. The guide section includes a first declined section, a second declined section arranged on the downstream side of the first declined section in the conveyance direction, and an inclined section inclined from the second declined section to the downstream side in the conveyance direction. A declination of the second declined section is more moderate than that of the first declined section, and the regulation unit faces the guide section.

A recording apparatus includes a recording portion configured to record an image on a recording medium; a housing having an ejection opening on the side of the housing, the recording medium recorded with the image being ejected from the ejection opening in the ejection direction; and a receiver that receives the recording medium ejected from the ejection opening. The recording apparatus further includes a guide provided inside the ejection opening of the housing, and the receiver has an end on an upstream side of the receiver with respect to the ejection direction such that the end is held at a position overlapping with the guide.

A recording apparatus includes a recording portion configured to record an image on a recording medium; a discharge port configured to discharge the recording medium, on which the image is recorded, in a discharge direction; and a receiving member located below the discharge port in a direction of gravity and configured to receive the recording medium discharged from the discharge port. A printing apparatus according to an embodiment of this invention brings, out of a cleaning unit that cleans a transfer member in contact with a transfer member and an application unit that applies a reactive liquid with ink to the transfer member, the cleaning unit into contact with the transfer member to clean the transfer member by the cleaning unit at the start of the printing operation. Alternatively, out of the application unit and an absorbing unit that absorbs a liquid component from the reactive liquid applied by the application unit in contact with the transfer member, the printing apparatus brings the application unit into contact with the transfer member to apply the reactive liquid by the application unit.

Inkjet printing apparatus

An inkjet printing apparatus includes a printhead configured to form an image by discharging ink to a transfer member, a transfer unit configured to transfer the image from the transfer member to a print medium, and an application unit configured to apply a first liquid to the transfer member prior to formation of the image by the printhead. The inkjet printing apparatus also includes a first drying unit configured to dry the first liquid applied to the transfer member by the application unit by blowing air using a first air blower before the ink is discharged by the printhead to the transfer member.

A printing apparatus includes a transfer drum configured to rotate while supporting a plurality of transfer members on each of which an image is formed by discharging ink from a printhead, a rotating member configured to apply a processing liquid while being pressed against each of the plurality of transfer members, and a concave portion formed lower than a surface of each of the plurality of transfer members between the adjacent transfer members. In addition, the printing apparatus includes a driving unit configured to driven-rotate the rotating member in accordance with rotation of the transfer drum in a state in which the rotating member is pressed against the plurality of transfer members, and driving-rotate the rotating member in a state in which the rotating member faces the concave portion.

Printing apparatus and control method

A sheet is cut between a first conveying unit and a second conveying unit in a state in which the first and second conveying units halt and in which an upstream conveying unit conveys the sheet at a first speed; after the sheet is cut, the first conveying unit conveys the sheet at a second speed higher than the first speed to reduce a slack formed during the halting; after the sheet is cut, the second conveying unit conveys the downstream-side sheet at a third speed higher than the first speed; if the third conveying unit is nipping the sheet during cutting, the third conveying unit conveys the sheet at the third speed; and if the third conveying unit is not nipping the sheet, the third conveying unit conveys the sheet at the third speed or a fourth speed after the detecting unit detects the sheet.

Apparatus and method for cutting sheet

When fixing is not necessary in a printing apparatus including a fixing unit, a sheet to be conveyed is allowed to avoid the fixing unit. Specifically, a fixing unit-bypass path is provided on a conveying path corresponding to the fixing unit. Further, when a surface treatment material is not applied to a sheet from a surface treatment material applying head, that is, when fixing processing is not performed by the fixing unit, a sheet is conveyed along a fixing unit-bypass path. Since a sheet is conveyed along an bypass path when fixing processing is not performed as described above, it is possible to prevent a sheet from being affected by heat or the like while the sheet passes through the fixing unit.

At least one of processing units is capable of being pulled out of a main body of an apparatus during the occurrence of a sheet conveyance jam. A first cutter and a second cutter are arranged in the vicinity of the processing unit. The first cutter is configured to cut the sheet on an upstream of the processing unit. The second cutter is configured to cut the sheet on a downstream thereof. When the processing unit is pulled, the sheet is cut on the upstream and downstream of the processing unit.
