Provided is a substrate with a thin film for manufacturing a reflective mask that at least does not adversely affect performance of the reflective mask even when a thin film of a substrate with the thin film such as a reflective mask blank comprises impurities. A substrate with a thin film comprises: a substrate; and at least one thin film formed on a main surface of the substrate. The thin film comprises a matrix material constituting the thin film and a small-amount material other than the matrix material. When secondary ion intensity emitted from the thin film is measured by time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS), a ratio (I/I) of secondary ion intensity (I) of at least one of the small-amount material in the thin film to secondary ion intensity (I) of the matrix material is more than 0 and 0.300 or less.

Sulfide solid electrolyte

A sulfide solid electrolyte material has favorable ion conductivity and resistance to reduction. The sulfide solid electrolyte material includes a peak at a position of 2&#x3b8;=29.86&#xb0;&#xb1;1.00&#xb0; in X-ray diffraction measurement using a CuK&#x3b1; ray, and a composition of LiPS(0.1&#x2264;y&#x2264;0.175).

Sulfide solid electrolyte material, battery, and producing method for sulfide solid electrolyte material

A main object of the present disclosure is to provide a sulfide solid electrolyte material with favorable Li ion conductivity. To achieve the above object, the present disclosure provides a sulfide solid electrolyte material comprising a composition of LiAlSiS(0&#x3c;x&#x3c;1), and having a peak at a position of 2&#x3b8;=25.19&#xb0;&#xb1;1.00&#xb0;, 29.62&#xb0;&#xb1;1.00&#xb0;, 30.97&#xb0;&#xb1;1.00&#xb0; in X-ray diffraction measurement using a CuK&#x3b1; ray.

A power supply device includes a battery, an inverter, a converter, an electronic control unit. The inverter includes an upper arm having a third switching element and a lower arm having a fourth switching element. The converter includes an upper arm having a first switching element and a lower arm having a second switching element. In a magnetic disk including a magnetic layer, a protecting layer and a lubricating layer on a substrate, the lubricating layer is formed by a self assembly monolayer. A material of the self assembly monolayer is a hydrocarbon-based silane agent or a partial fluorinated hydrocarbon-based silane agent. The magnetic layer and the protecting layer (P) are sequentially formed on the substrate, and then the substrate on which the magnetic layer and the protecting layer (P) are formed is immersed in a solution containing the hydrocarbon-based silane agent or the partial fluorinated hydrocarbon-based silane agent, and thus a lubricating layer (L) is formed on the protecting layer (P).

Magnetic disk and method of manufacturing the same

A lubricant for magnetic disks which can form a lubricating layer having a reduced thickness while attaining a high coverage and is excellent in heat resistance and adhesion to a protective layer. The lubricant for magnetic disks comprises a perfluoropolyether compound in which the relationship between the number-average molecular weight and the standardized value of the number of hydroxy groups contained in the molecule satisfies the following: the number-average molecular weight is in the range of 1,000-6,000; the standardized value of the number of hydroxy groups contained in the molecule is 180 or higher; and the compound is in a region located below the line connecting the point where the number-average molecular weight is 1,000 and the standardized value of the number of hydroxy groups in the molecule is 400 to the point where the number-average molecular weight is 6,000 and the standardized value of the number of hydroxy groups in the molecule is 1,600. The compound has at least one hydroxy group around the center of the molecular chain.

In order to obtain a magnetic recording disk that exhibits high reliability even if the flying height of a magnetic head becomes very narrow, a lubricant is specified in terms of both molecular structure and quantitative data. Magnetic recording disk and method for manufacture thereof

On producing a lubricant which is used in making a lubrication layer included in a magnetic disk from the lubricant, a phosphorus-containing compound is removed from a raw-material lubricant including the phosphorus-containing compound to produce the lubricant. The magnetic disk includes a substrate on which at least a magnetic layer, a protection layer, and the lubrication layer formed by the use of the lubricant are successively formed.
