A hybrid vehicle is driven by a power unit which includes: a first rotating machine including a first rotor, a first stator, and a second rotor, wherein the number of magnetic poles generated by an armature row of the first stator and one of the first rotor and the second rotor are connected to a drive shaft; a power engine, wherein an output shaft of the power engine is connected to the other of the first rotor and the second rotor; a second rotating machine; and a capacitor. The hybrid vehicle includes: a state detector that detects a charge state of the capacitor; and a controller that controls the power unit. The controller controls the output of the power engine, based on a remaining capacity of the capacitor when driving the power engine in order to start the hybrid vehicle. Accordingly, it is possible to achieve reduction in the size and cost of the power unit and enhance the driving efficiency of the power unit.

Hybrid vehicle

A hybrid vehicle is driven by a power unit which includes: a first rotating machine including a first rotor, a first stator, and a second rotor, wherein the number of magnetic poles generated by an armature row of the first stator and one of the first rotor and the second rotor are connected to a drive shaft; a power engine, wherein an output shaft of the power engine is connected to the other of the first rotor and the second rotor; a second rotating machine; and a capacitor. A traveling mode of the hybrid vehicle includes an EV traveling mode and an ENG traveling mode, wherein the hybrid vehicle travels with a motive power from at least one of the first rotating machine and the second rotating machine in the EV traveling mode, and the hybrid vehicle travels with a motive power from the power engine in ENG traveling mode. The hybrid vehicle includes: an EV traveling mode predicting unit that predicts a switching from the ENG traveling mode to the EV traveling mode; and a controller that controls a remaining capacity of the capacitor in accordance with prediction result obtained by the EV traveling mode predicting unit so as to change a target value of the remaining capacity. Accordingly, it is possible to achieve reduction in the size and cost of the power unit and enhance the driving efficiency of the power unit.

A hybrid vehicle is driven by a power unit which includes: a first rotating machine including a first rotor, a first stator, and a second rotor, wherein the number of magnetic poles generated by an armature row of the first stator and one of the first rotor and the second rotor are connected to a drive shaft; a power engine, wherein an output shaft of the power engine is connected to the other of the first rotor and the second rotor; a second rotating machine; a capacitor; and a transformer that steps up an output voltage of the capacitor. The hybrid vehicle includes: a voltage demand calculator that calculates a voltage demand required for each of the first rotating machine and the second rotating machine in accordance with an operating condition of the hybrid vehicle; a step-up execution determining unit that allows the transformer to step up the voltage, when at least one of the voltage demand of the first rotating machine and the voltage demand of the second rotating machine is higher than a first threshold value; and a controller that controls the transformer in accordance with the result determined by the step-up execution determining unit. Accordingly, it is possible to achieve reduction in the size and cost of the power unit and enhance the driving efficiency of the power unit.

A power plant that is capable of attaining downsizing and reduction of manufacturing costs and enhancing the degree of freedom in design thereof. In the power plant, a first rotating machineincludes a first rotorhaving a predetermined plurality of magnetic poles, a statorthat generates a predetermined plurality of armature magnetic poles to thereby generate a rotating magnetic field, and a second rotorhaving a predetermined plurality of soft magnetic material elements. The ratio between the number of the armature magnetic poles, the number of the magnetic poles, and the number of the soft magnetic material elements is set to 1:m:(1+m)/2 (m&#x2260;1.0). One of the rotorsandis mechanically connected to an output portionof a heat engine, and the other of the rotorsandand a rotorof a second rotating machineare mechanically connected to driven parts DW and DW. Further, in starting the heat engine, when the rotational speed of the output portionis not lower than a first predetermined value NEST, the heat engineis started in a state where the rotational speed of the output portionis not increased.

Power plant

A power plant which is capable of enhancing the driving efficiency and the power-generating efficiency thereof. A rotating machine includes a first rotor having a magnetic pole row that has each two adjacent magnetic poles, a stator having an armature row that is disposed in a manner opposed to the magnetic pole row, for generating a rotating magnetic field between the armature row and the magnetic pole row by a predetermined plurality of armature magnetic poles, and a second rotor having a soft magnetic material element row that is formed by a plurality of soft magnetic material elements arranged in a manner spaced from each other. The ratio between the number of the armature magnetic poles, the number of the magnetic poles, and the number of the soft magnetic material elements is set to 1:m:(1+m)/2 (m&#x2260;1.0).

A power plant which is capable of reducing the size and costs thereof and attaining high driving efficiency. To provide a power plant which makes it possible to make the power plant more compact in size, reduce manufacturing costs thereof, and improve the degree of freedom in design. The power plantcomprises an engine, and first and second rotating machinesand, and drives front wheelsby motive power from these. The first rotating machineincludes first and second rotorsand, and a stator, and is configured such that a ratio between the number of armature magnetic poles generated in the stator, the number of magnetic poles of the first rotor, and the number of soft magnetic material coresof the second rotorbecomes 1:m:(1+m)/2 (m&#x2260;1.0).

An electric motorincludes three statorstoeach having an armature row, a rotorhaving a permanent magnet row, and a rotorhaving a soft magnetic material row. Magnetic machine

An accessory drive system which is capable of preventing the driving efficiency thereof from being lowered and achieving simplified construction, and reduction of the size and manufacturing costs. The system has a rotating machine including a first rotor, a second rotor, and a stator. The first rotor is formed by magnetic poles circumferentially arranged, with each two adjacent ones having different polarities. The stator has an armature row for generating a rotating magnetic pole that circumferentially rotates, between the armature and magnetic pole rows. The second rotor is formed by soft magnetic material elements circumferentially arranged with space, and disposed between the magnetic pole and armature rows. A ratio between the number of the armature magnetic poles, that of the magnetic poles, and that of the soft magnetic material elements is set to 1:m:(1+m)/2(m&#x2260;1.0).

Accessory drive system connected to an internal combustion engine

Apparatus controlling a permanent magnet rotary electric machine. After the apparatus controls a current control portion, when a rotor of the machine rotates at a constant speed, to supply a predetermined current to an armature, the apparatus performs a dq vector control process by determining a predetermined temporarily set value as a magnetic pole position correction quantity while a d-axis current command value and a q-axis current command value in the dq vector control process performed on a dq coordinate system that has a d-axis extending in the direction of a magnetic field of the permanent magnet of the rotor and a q-axis extending in a direction perpendicular to the d-axis. Then, the apparatus obtains the magnetic pole position correction quantity based on a predetermined operation expression using the d-axis voltage command value and the q-axis voltage command value from the dq vector control process.

Apparatus for controlling permanent-magnet rotary electric machine

An electric motorincludes a first structureincluding a magnetic pole row formed by a predetermined plurality of magnetic polesarranged in a predetermined direction, a second structureincluding an armature row disposed in a manner opposed to the magnetic pole row, for generating moving magnetic fields moving in the predetermined direction between the armature row and the magnetic pole row, and a third structureincluding a soft magnetic material element row. The third structure disposed such that the soft magnetic material element row is positioned between the magnetic pole row and the armature row. A ratio between the number of the armature magnetic poles, the number of the magnetic poles, and the number of the soft magnetic material elementsis set to 1:m:(1+m)/2 (m&#x2260;1.0).

Electric motor

A controller of a permanent magnet type rotary motor of the present invention includes: a current difference calculator decomposing a primary voltage difference which is a difference between a primary voltage of the permanent magnet type rotary motor and a maximum voltage corresponding to a source voltage, into a field-axis voltage difference component and a torque-axis voltage difference component in the rotatory magnetic flux coordinate by the use of a phase angle of the primary voltage, and calculating a field-axis current difference component and a torque-axis current difference component in the rotatory magnetic flux coordinate by the use of the voltage difference component, a field-axis inductance, and a torque-axis inductance; and a target current corrector correcting a field-axis target current and a torque-axis target current in the rotatory magnetic flux coordinate so that current difference components are zero.
