A relative rotation restriction unit includes a rotation restriction body for restricting a stator and a rotator, which are in engagement with each other coaxially so as to be rotatable with respect to each other, from rotating with respect to each other at a restriction position, and an urging unit for elastically supporting the rotation restriction body toward the restriction position.

Rotatable connector device

A rotation sensor includes a first rotor constituted by a magnetic material and having an outer face that has first conductive layers disposed in two levels as viewed in the direction of a rotation axis and second conductive layers disposed outwardly of and between the first conductive layers, a second rotor having metal members corresponding to the first conductive layers of the first rotor, and a stationary core having a stationary core body that accommodates therein two exciting coils that are spaced from each other in the direction of the rotation axis. The second rotor is disposed between the first rotor mounted to a first shaft and the stationary core fixed to a stationary member, and is mounted to a second shaft which is rotatable relative to the first shaft.

A rotary connector including a first part, a second part rotationally coupled to the first part to form an interior of the rotary connector, and an electrical cable housed within the interior of the rotary connector. An over current protection device is housed within an integral space of the rotary connector and configured to provide over current protection for the electrical cable.

A rotation sensor functioning as both a rotation-angle sensor and a torque sensor is provided which, when applied to a steering sensor for an automobile, for example, permits reduction in the number of components and thus in the weight of the automobile and contributes to conservation of global environment. The rotation sensor has slip rings covered with conductive synthetic resin having small coefficient of friction, allowing the contact pressure of brushes disposed in sliding contact with the slip rings to be kept low and the life duration of the slip rings to be prolonged. Further, no metal powder is produced when the brushes slide on the respective slip rings, and it is therefore possible to prevent the formation of unwanted insulating film.

Rotation sensor

The rotation sensor () has a cylindrical first rotor () made of an insulating magnetic material, having conductor layers () arranged circumferentially, the first rotor being attached to a rotating first shaft () at a predetermined axial position; a fixed core () having an exciting coil (), the core being fixed to a fixing member with a space secured in the axial direction with respect to the first shaft; a second rotor () having nonmagnetic metal bodies () arranged circumferentially to oppose the conductor layers respectively, the second rotor being attached to a second shaft located adjacent to and rotating relative to the first shaft () and being located between the first rotor () and the fixed core (); and oscillating device connected to the exciting coil (), the oscillating device transmitting an oscillation signal of a specific frequency. The rotation sensor has rotation guides () for guiding rotation of the first and second rotors () respectively with respect to the fixed core ().

A contact type rotation sensor includes a contact brush having a contact and an electrical resistor disposed for sliding motion relative to the contact. The contact brush provided at a side face of an arm portion with a projecting piece has asymmetric shape and asymmetric weight distribution about its longitudinal axis, and is large in moment of inertia in a direction of torsion. During relative sliding motion, suppressed torsional vibration of the contact occurs not only at natural frequencies but also at dispersed frequencies other than natural frequencies, reducing the sound pressure of sliding sound. A stable contact state is ensured between the contact and the electrical resistor, resulting in improved durability.

A rotation sensor ( ) provided with a first rotor ( ) fixed to a predetermined position in the axial direction of the shaft, a second rotor ( ) fixed to the shaft ( ) adjoining the first rotor, and a magnetic material core (13) having a resonance coil ( ) arranged around the first rotor and forming a magnetic circuit working with the first rotor. The first rotor ( ) is formed by a magnetic material comprised of an insulator, an irregular magnetic field is formed with the magnetic material core, and the second rotor ( ) is provided with a conductor cutting across areas of different intensities of the irregular magnetic field in accordance with the difference of the angle of rotation when a difference in the angle of relative rotation occurs at a shaft position where the first rotor is fixed and a shaft position where the second rotor is fixed.
