The present invention aims to provide a technique enabling an information added by another user to be referenced and enabling the range of the information the user references from a database to be customized. A related information database in which a plurality of elements are accumulated is prepared, and an output setting information in which an information relating to the output of an additional information is associated with each other, in response to the additional writing of the additional information by a certain user to the related information database is stored. The output setting information of the certain user can be changed by the user. A portion of information is extracted from the related information database in accordance with an input of an extraction condition by the user, and the portion of information is visually output according to information relating to the output of the user.

In a medical information system, with respect to a plurality of kinds of medical databases, a plurality of search items included in a search query inputted by a user are sorted in accordance with search divisions, and thereby divided into a finding report search query and a specimen test query. By using these queries, the corresponding databases are searched independently, and individual search results obtained therefrom are combined to generate a combined search result. The individual search result is assigned with an individual score in accordance with the matching degree with the search item. In combining the individual search results, a relevancy score is assigned. The search results are ranked and combined in descending order of the scores. This requires only one issuance of a search execution order without the need to perform a search operation a plurality of times, in order to obtain a desired search result.

In a plurality of pieces of single report structured data that is stored in a structured database in a diagnosis information database, character information constructing a radiological report describing detailed information of image data is added as metadata for search to the image data. For example, only by designating image data to be read as image (retrieval reference image) data as a reference of retrieval by a reading physician as the user during radiological operation, the character information already added to the retrieval reference image data is set as a keyword. By a keyword search using the metadata, data of a similar image and a related report of the retrieval reference image data are detected from the structured DB.

Disease care information obtained by combining the one disease name element with the plurality of care elements is generated and visibly output in a display unit.

The present invention provides a database system capable of dealing with dynamic changes in an event that vary continuously with time. A database system outputs a retrieval output from data in response to a user's retrieval request on the basis of a retrieval logic. The retrieval logic is allowed to evolve on the basis of a logical model. This logical model establishes a general relationship which leads results from conditions relating to a group of events that are dealt by a data group. Moreover, a database system optimizes a data structure on the basis of the logical model. The logical model can be transferred in a separated manner from the specific data contents of the data group. Therefore, the logical model can be exported to another database system of the same kind, and also imported from another data base system of the same kind.

The present invention provides a technique for supporting accurate and smooth creation of a report. Information in which elements belonging to items included in a plurality of items of elements constructing a report are associated with each other between the items is stored in an input support database. In the medical support system, the support information is generated on the basis of the first medical information and second medical information being entered. Therefore, in the medical support system, when the first medical information and second medical information being entered changes, the support information to be generated also changes.

The present invention provides an update detecting apparatus capable of properly extracting an important update. The update detecting apparatus includes a difference extracting unit, a morphological analyzing unit, and an update determining unit. The difference extracting unit extracts the difference between text data included in a server-side file and text data included in a cache file. The morphological analyzing unit divides the difference extracted by the difference extracting unit into words (morphemes) and generates a word group. The update determining unit determines that an update is performed in the server-side file when a word satisfying a predetermined condition is included in the word group generated by the morphological analyzing unit.

A liquid material supplier capable of effectively preventing a liquid material, such as ink, held on a surface of a liquid material holding member from drying and an image forming apparatus provided with the same. The supplier includes a liquid material holding member for holding a liquid material on a surface thereof. The liquid material holding member is rotatable in a predetermined direction and supplying, during rotation, the liquid material to a member to be supplied at a given supply position. The supplier further includes a supply station for supplying the liquid material to the surface of the liquid material holding member and a regulating member for regulating the liquid material on the liquid material holding member to a specified thickness. The regulating member is disposed at a position downstream of the supply station and upstream of the supply position in the direction of rotation of the liquid material holding member. The supplier further includes a removing member disposed at a position downstream of the supply station and upstream of the regulating member in the direction of rotation of the liquid material holding member.
