A medical device is disclosed which can be inserted into a biological lumen to effectively cut and remove an object. The medical device includes a drive shaft, a cutting portion fixed to a distal portion of the drive shaft, an outer tube that accommodates the drive shaft, and a handle unit disposed in a proximal portion of the drive shaft and the outer tube. The handle unit has an aspiration port. The aspiration port communicates with an aspiration lumen disposed between the outer tube and the drive shaft. The drive shaft has a first wire rod helically wound around an axis of the drive shaft. A helical winding direction of the first wire rod wound toward a proximal end direction of the drive shaft is a reverse direction of a rotation direction of the drive shaft. The first wire rod directly faces an inner peripheral surface of the outer tube.

Medical device

A medical device is able to achieve a high aspiration pressure while also effectively transmitting rotational torque to a cutting portion to remove an object inside a biological lumen. The medical device includes a drive shaft, an outer tube accommodating the drive shaft, a cutting portion fixed to the drive shaft, and a hub unit. The hub unit has a first housing with an aspiration port, a second housing with a liquid delivering port, and first and second seal portions disposed between the second housing and the drive shaft. The first seal portion has a first frictional coefficient, and the second seal portion has a second frictional coefficient. The first frictional coefficient is lower than the second frictional coefficient, and the first seal portion is located on a distal side of the second seal portion.

A medical device for grinding substance inside a body lumen includes a rotatable tubular drive shaft, a treatment member connected to the drive shaft, and a tubular member possessing an axially extending lumen that extends throughout the tubular member. The tubular member is mounted on the treatment member and surrounds a portion of the treatment member so that the treatment member is rotatable relative to the tubular member. The treatment member includes a shearing portion, and the tubular member includes a protrusion that projects toward the lumen of the tubular member. The protrusion is located axially in front of the shearing portion and interacts with the shearing portion during relative rotation between the treatment member and the tubular member to shear debris resulting from the grinding of the substance.

Medical device and method

A medical device and can remove an object inside a biological lumen while allowing a positional change of the device inside the biological lumen. The medical device includes a drive shaft, an outer tube accommodating the drive shaft, a cutting portion fixed to a distal portion of the drive shaft, and a hub unit housing proximal portions of the drive shaft and the outer tube. The hub unit has an operation unit fixed to the outer surface of the outer tube to rotate the outer tube, a first support portion rotatably supporting the operation unit, a first housing having an aspiration port for discharging fluid to outside, and causing communication of an aspiration lumen of the outer tube with the aspiration port, and a first seal between the first housing and the outer tube. The first support portion and the first seal are disposed in parallel along an axial direction.

Medical device and treatment method

A medical device is disclosed for grinding substance inside a body lumen. The medical device includes a rotatable tubular drive shaft; a treatment member connected to the drive shaft so that rotation of the drive shaft results in rotation of the treatment member; an outer sheath configured to house the drive shaft; a handle located at a proximal portion of the drive shaft and at a proximal portion of the outer sheath; a guide wire lumen tube disposed within the tubular drive shaft and the treatment member, the guide wire lumen tube having a guide wire lumen; a distal end of the guide wire lumen tube located at a distal end of the treatment member or distal to the distal end of the treatment member; and a proximal portion of the guide wire lumen tube configured to penetrate a wall of the handle.

Provided are a bearing and a medical device in which a gap is secured between an inner ring and an outer ring, and the gap can be used as a flow path for a fluid or an object. A bearing having a plurality of rolling elements between an inner ring and an outer ring is provided with a raceway surface on which the rolling elements roll on the outer ring and receiving portions for rotatably accommodating the rolling elements at a position of the inner ring facing the raceway surface.

Bearing and medical device

A medical device and a treatment method are disclosed, which can improve safety by reducing damage to a biological tissue while an object inside a biological lumen can be cut. A medical device is disclosed for cutting an object inside a biological lumen includes a rotatable drive shaft, and a rotary structure that interlocks with a distal side of the drive shaft so as to be rotated by the drive shaft. The rotary structure has a cutting portion for cutting the object, and a non-cutting portion capable of smoothly coming into contact with a biological tissue. The non-cutting portion is located in a maximum outer diameter portion of the rotary structure.

A method is disclosed comprising: introducing a treatment member into a living body and positioning the treatment member adjacent substance in the living body to be ground; moving the treatment member in at least a clockwise direction or a counterclockwise direction about a central axis, which is different from an axis of rotation of the treatment member while the treatment member is positioned adjacent the substance to be ground in the living body to grind the substance; and shearing debris resulting from the grinding of the substance to reduce a size of the debris.

Device handle for a medical device

A medical device has a rotatable drive shaft, a rotary body whose distal end includes a cutting edge for applying a cutting force to a stenosed site, and that is disposed on a distal side of the drive shaft so as to be rotated in conjunction with rotation of the drive shaft, and a distal member disposed in the rotary body. The distal member has a support portion extending to a distal side beyond a distal end of the rotary body, and configured to be capable of supporting the rotary body with respect to a blood vessel. The support portion is configured so that a distance from the rotary body is variable in a first direction (height direction) in which the rotary body is moved close to the stenosed site.

A medical device has a rotatable drive shaft, a rotary body that includes a cutting edge for applying a cutting force to a stenosed site, and that is disposed on a distal side of the drive shaft so as to be rotated in conjunction with rotation of the drive shaft, a switching portion whose distal end is disposed at a position protruding from the cutting edge, and a holding portion that holds the switching portion so as to move the switching portion on the same plane as the cutting edge or to a position away from the stenosed site beyond the cutting edge in accordance with a pushing force, when the switching portion is pushed against the stenosed site.

A device handle is disclosed for grinding substances inside a body lumen, the device handle comprising: a high-speed drive source configured to rotate a treatment member connected to a distal end of a drive shaft; and a low-speed drive source connected to a revolution shaft, and wherein the revolution shaft is configured to cause the treatment member to move about a central axis of the revolution shaft, and wherein the central axis of a proximal portion of the revolution shaft is different from a central axis of the treatment member.

A medical device is disclosed for delivering a medical member which is intended to indwell in a treatment site of a urethra includes a flexible main body that extends in an axial direction, a balloon that includes an effectively dilatable portion on which the medical member is mounted, that has a dilating space into which a pressurizing medium flows between an outer surface of the main body and the balloon, and that is capable of dilating deformation and deflating deformation, an elongated guide member that is arranged across the treatment site and the outside of a living body via the urethra, and an attachment portion to which at least a portion of the guide member is detachably attached at a position between both end portions in the axial direction of the main body.

Medical device, medical device assembly, balloon device, and treatment method for treating urethral stricture

A balloon can be rather easily pressed against an inner wall inside a lumen using a proper pressing force. A balloon has a dilating/deflating section that forms a hollow internal space, and that deflates by the internal space being decompressed, and a support section that is arranged in the internal space so as to deflate in response to the deflation of the dilating/deflating section, and that supports the dilating/deflating section so as to dilate outward in a state where the internal space is under atmospheric pressure.
