A mass spectrometer includes a position controller that adjusts a position of a sample plate, an image acquirer that acquires an image of a sample/matrix mixture on the sample plate, a laser light emitter that emits laser light to the sample/matrix mixture, a detector that detects ions generated from the sample/matrix mixture by the emission of the laser light by the laser light emitter, and a controller that acquires an image of a sample plate identification code displayed on the sample plate by utilizing the image acquirer and specifies plate identification information of the sample plate from the image of the sample plate identification code.

Provided is a valvewhich requires only a small space for the open/close operation of an openingin a partition wall. A sealing partincludes a sealing memberfor sealing the opening by being pressed onto the partition wall around the opening. An urging meansurges the sealing memberagainst the opening when the sealing memberis in contact with the opening. A driving meansgenerates a driving force orthogonal to an opening central axis A which is an axis perpendicular to a partition plateand passing through the center of the opening. A linkage, which is a Scott Russell linkage connecting the sealing partand the driving means, converts the driving force of the driving meansinto a driving force which is parallel to the opening central axis A and makes the sealing partmove along the same axis.

An ion analyzer includes: a sample placement uniton which a sampleis to be placed; an excitation beam irradiation unitthat irradiates the sampleplaced on the sample placement unitwith an excitation beam in a direction perpendicular to a surface of the sample; a deflection unitthat makes at least some of ions generated from the sampleto fly in a direction deviating from an irradiation path of the excitation beam; and an analysis unitdisposed in a flight direction of ions deflected by the deflection unit, that separates and measures the ions in accordance with a predetermined physical quantity.

An analytical device includes: a regulator to which a gas storage container attached and which is held by a holder; a gas introduction chamber to which gas in the gas storage container is supplied through the regulator; and a movement mechanism that moves the holder so that the regulator moves between a measurement position and a non-measurement position.
