Embodiments of reduced pressure systems and methods for operating the systems are disclosed. In some embodiments, a system can include a source of negative pressure and a controller configured to present GUI screens for controlling and monitoring operation of the system. The controller can be configured to receive, via the GUI, an adjustment of a negative pressure therapy parameter and adjust (or cause adjustment) of the operation of the negative pressure source based on received adjustment. The controller can be further configured to record historical data parameters associated with negative pressure therapy parameters. The controller can also be configured to transmit (or cause transmission) over a communication channel at least some of recorded historical data. The system can be configured to provide external connectivity for accomplishing various activities, such as location tracking, compliance monitoring, tracking of operational data, remote selection and adjustment of therapy settings, etc.

Methods for delivering a vascular prosthesis to a treatment site of a subject include advancing the vascular prosthesis, rotating a proximal handle in a first direction about a handle body, shifting the position of a first locking component securing the proximal handle to the push rod from a first position to a second position, rotating the proximal handle in a second direction, releasing the proximal end of the prosthesis from the apex delivery device, shifting the second locking component to disengage the push rod from the handle body; and withdrawing the push rod and the guidewire catheter from within the prosthesis, thereby delivering the vascular prosthesis to the treatment site.

A fastener driving tool that includes a lift mechanism for moving the driver from a driven position to a ready position. In one embodiment, the lift mechanism is mounted to a movable pivot arm, and the pivot arm is slightly rotated to allow the driver to drive a fastener; when the driver is to be lifted in a return stroke, the lifter subassembly is moved back into engagement with the driver, and multiple lifter pins contact protrusions in the driver to lift the driver from the driven position to the ready position. In another embodiment, the pivotable lifter floats along the driver, and 'releases' from contact only to prevent a jam or otherwise undesirable operating condition involving the driver; otherwise, the lifter remains nested in the tool's guide body during all operating states. A solenoid-operated latch also is provided to prevent the driver from moving downward (for driving a fastener).

Medical fluid injection apparatus and method with detachable patch and monitoring

A system including a deck of playing cards. A randomly generated number is printed on each playing card in the deck. An activation device is also provided, which contains a data file of each randomly generated number of the playing cards in the deck, and the order of each playing card in the deck. A playing card dealing shoe is also provided. The shoe includes a sensor for detecting the randomly generated number on a playing card as the playing card is drawn from the shoe. The shoe is associated with a processor, which is in communication with the sensor and the activation device to receive information therefrom. The processor determines whether a playing card drawn from the shoe is expected based on the information from the sensor and the activation device, and disables the shoe when the drawn playing card is not the expected playing card.

A process for ocular analysis is disclosed. Aspects of the process display, on a device having a display and a camera sensor, a regimented pattern as a stimulus. The camera sensor captures video of an environment. The process also involves isolating an iris within the environment as a bounded region of the captured video. Facial landmarks are assigned to the iris within the bounded region. Thereafter, raw movement data of the facial landmark in response to the regimented pattern is extracted from the captured video. The raw movement data is used to create filtered movement data (e.g., data that has been checked for errors). The process also compares the filtered movement data to a predetermined movement response that is based on the regimented pattern. From the comparison, a performance score is generated. The performance score is used to generate an output.

A sample collection device for a fluid includes: a substantially disk-shaped body having a periphery; a capillary channel extending through the body and bounded by the periphery, having a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is adapted to draw the fluid into the channel by capillary action; a sample collection well located in the vicinity of the second end and in fluid communication with the capillary channel; and an axis of rotation extending through the center of the disk and which is substantially perpendicular to the major surface of the disk-shaped body. In a preferred embodiment, the sample collection device is adapted to rotate about the axis of rotation within a cartridge having a housing comprising an air vent in fluid communication with the capillary channel when the disk is rotated in a first position.

Embodiments of a reduced pressure system and methods for operating the system are disclosed. In some embodiments, the system can include one or more processors responsible for various functions associated with various levels of responsiveness, such as interfacing with a user, controlling a vacuum pump, providing network connectivity, etc. The system can present GUI screens for controlling and monitoring its operation. The system can determine and monitor flow of fluid in the system by utilizing one or more of the following: monitoring the speed of a pump motor, monitoring flow of fluid in a portion of a fluid flow path by using a calibrated fluid flow restrictor, and monitoring one or more characteristics of the pressure pulses. The system can provide external connectivity for accomplishing various activities, such as location tracking of the system, compliance monitoring, tracking of operational data, remote selection and adjustment of therapy settings, etc.
