An electrodynamic sound transducer that includes a chassis, a membrane with a hole in the centre of the membrane, a moving coil, a magnetic system, and a resonator that is placed in the hole in the centre of the membrane.

Headphones are provided with a rear wall that is designed to be inwardly convex, so that sound which is radiated from the rear side of the sound-generating membrane of a sound generator is advantageously distributed in the headphone housing.

There is provided a headphone having an over-the-head headband which is of an arcuate configuration and spans a central plane. The headphone has at least one spacer element which is fixedly connected to an end of the over-the-head headband and projects out of the central plane, at least one articulation which is fixed to the spacer element at a spacing relative to the central plane and at least one ear cap which is coupled pivotably by way of the at least one articulation to the spacer element. The articulation is so provided that its pivot axis is substantially perpendicular to the surface of the head of a user of the headphone so that the ear cap can be pivoted by means of the articulation from a first position in which it covers an ear of the user into a second position in which the ear is exposed.

Thus there is provided an earphone or headset comprising at least one electroacoustic reproduction transducer for the reproduction of audio signals, an electric connecting cable, and a damping unit for damping solids-borne sound transmitted by the connecting cable. The damping unit is in the form of a separate component.

Earphone and headset

Headphones of various designs and types of construction, in particular also closed headphones, have been known for a long time. Headphones of the type mentioned above should have the desired frequency response in all frequency positions and, in particular, this frequency response should be as linear and uniform as possible in the lower frequency range in order to allow good transmission in low frequencies as well. It is the object of the invention to simplify the damping of the fundamental resonance of transducer systems, to improve quality and to save costs. Closed headphones with an acoustic transducer with a diaphragm system which separates a front volume from a rear volume, the rear volume being so small that it does not act as a spring in the range of the fundamental resonance of the transducer system.
