A generator assembly for harvesting energy in a bearing arrangement having a first ring and a second ring is provided. The generator assembly includes a plurality of coils attached to the first ring and configured to interact with a magnet ring with alternating magnetization directions attached to the second ring, and a plug connector for supplying power generated by the generator assembly to external devices. The coils are encapsulated and mounted in an outer carrier ring such that the winding axis is oriented in a radial direction of the bearing and the magnet ring is composed of plural permanent magnets attached to an inner carrier ring attached to the inner ring of the bearing.

A gear-driven bearing unit comprising a housing, a drive gear and a rolling element bearing The rolling element bearing comprising: an outer member with teeth for meshing with drive gear teeth, an inner member and rolling elements between the inner and outer members. At one axial side, the housing is connected to the inner member enclosing the outer member. A first radial gap extends between an outer member radially inner surface and an inner member radially outer surface. A second radial gap exists between an outer member radially outer surface and a housing radially inner surface. The radial gaps are sealed by seals, each comprising radial sealing lips. The unit is lubricated with a grease comprising a calcium-based thickener or calcium salt additives and the teeth on the outer member are made of a hardening treated bearing-grade steel which diffuses nitrogen into the surface of the teeth.

A bearing system supports a plurality of turbine blades; each blade being rotatable about a pitch axis relative to a bearing system hub. The hub, comprising a plurality of static frames having a conical structure including two or more legs with openings therebetween, is connected to a main shaft of the turbine. Dynamic frames include a conical structure and two or more legs with openings therebetween. Legs of the static frame pass through openings between the legs of the corresponding dynamic frame, and legs of the dynamic frame pass through openings between legs of the corresponding static frame. Each dynamic frame is connected to one of the blades and is rotationally mounted to the corresponding static frame by a first bearing unit and a second bearing unit, distally arranged along the pitch axis from the first bearing unit. A central hub portion interconnects first shaft sections of the static frames.

A bearing includes a first ring, a second ring, at least one row of rolling elements arranged in a rolling chamber disposed between the first ring and the second ring, and a cap attached to the first ring that is configured to close the rolling chamber. At least one vibration sensor is attached on the inside of the cap, and the vibration sensor is mounted in a metal block connected to the cap.

The invention resides in an assembly for rotationally supporting a wind turbine blade () relative to a wind turbine hub (). The assembly comprises an intermediate ring () having an inner annular portion and an outer annular portion provided with means for attaching the turbine blade. The intermediate ring is rotatably mounted to the hub via a first bearing arrangement. According to the invention, the first bearing arrangement comprises a radial bearing () and a thrust bearing, whereby the inner annular portion is mounted to the hub via the radial bearing and the outer annular portion is mounted to the hub via the thrust bearing. The thrust bearing is a plain bearing comprising first and second sliding surfaces () which are clamped to the hub between first and second clamping members ().
