The present technology relates to depot assemblies for the controlled, sustained release of a therapeutic agent. The assembly can include a depot having a therapeutic region comprising a therapeutic agent, and a control region comprising a bioresorbable polymer and a releasing agent mixed with the polymer. The releasing agent may be configured to dissolve when the depot is placed in vivo to form diffusion openings in the control region. The depot may be configured to be implanted at a treatment site in vivo and, while implanted, release the therapeutic agent at the treatment site for no less than 3 days.

Implantable polymer depots for the controlled release of therapeutic agents

The devices, systems, and methods disclosed herein may be directed to a delivery system including a therapeutic member configured for endoluminal placement via the delivery system into the esophagus of the patient, wherein the therapeutic member comprises a treatment portion comprising a film for controlled release of a chemotherapeutic agent. The film may comprise a control region, a therapeutic region, and a substantially impermeable base region. The film is configured to release the chemotherapeutic agent in a direction away from the substantially impermeable base region. The delivery system is configured to enable a treatment provider to position the treatment portion of the therapeutic member proximate to a treatment site associated with the esophagus of the patient, and the therapeutic member is configured to administer a therapeutically effective dose to the treatment site for a sustained period following endoluminal placement of the therapeutic member.

Devices, systems, and methods for treating intraluminal cancer via controlled delivery of therapeutic agents

The present technology relates to polymer implants. In some embodiments, the polymer implant may have a volume having minimum cross-sectional dimension of 400 μm. The polymer implant may be configured to be implanted within a mammalian body for at least 3 days without undergoing core acidification.

This invention provides for a radially expandable stent having superior strength and reduced foreshortening properties. The stents have a mixed configuration of straight and arcuate connector segments that serve to join annular segments that make up the body of the stent. Surprisingly the described mixed configuration provides superior resistance to flip deformation while maintaining desired flexibility.

There is provided a method of charging an array of micro-capillaries. The micro-capillaries have at least one end that is open for fluid communication. The method includes the steps of: (a) filling the array of micro-capillaries with an assay liquid; (b) controllably evaporating at least some of the assay liquid to remove it from the micro-capillary and create a void space in each of the capillaries between the assay liquid and the open end; and (c) filling the void space with a liquid that is immiscible with said assay liquid. There is also provided a use of the disclosed method and a device for charging an array of micro-capillaries.
