A breaker switch includes a connector housing having plug-in contacts and a socket housing having sockets. The connector housing has a fuse chamber having an opening through which a fuse can be inserted into the fuse chamber. A lever pivotably mounts the housings such that the connector housing is movable with the lever relative to the socket housing between starting and final positions. In the starting position the housings disengage such that the contacts and sockets disengage. In the final position the housings engage such that the contacts and sockets engage. A cover is movably connected to the connector housing to move between opened and closed positions. The cover opens the fuse chamber opening when opened and closes the fuse chamber opening when closed. When the cover is opened the cover prevents the connector housing from moving to the final position thereby preventing the contacts and sockets from electrically connecting.

High-power breaker switch for a vehicle

Breaker switch includes connector, socket, and surrounding housings. The connector housing has contacts and a blocking lever. The socket housing has sockets and a gear rack. An operating lever has a gear mounted to the connector housing and engaged to the gear rack to mount the connector and socket housings such that the connector housing is movable relative to the socket housing between starting and final positions. In the starting position the connector and socket housings disengage such that the contacts and sockets disengage. In the final position the connector and socket housings engage such that the contacts and sockets engage. In the starting and final positions the blocking lever engages the gear to maintain the position of the connector housing. The surrounding housing is connected to the socket housing and has a control edge that releases the blocking lever from the gear to enable the connector housing to move.

High-power breaker switch with a wheel gear and a wheel rack

A connector includes first and second plug-and-socket connector parts and a connection element. The first connector part has a latch operable to connect the connector parts together. The connection element is connected and is displaceable with respect to the first connector part between first and second positions. The connection element has a pair of locking tabs operable with the latch such that the connection element is fixed in the first position until the latch connects the connector parts together and such that the connection element is movable from the first position to the second position when the latch connects the connector parts together. While in the first position the locking tabs release the latch connection such that the connector parts are separable from one another. While in the second position the locking tabs secure the latch connection such that the connector parts are securable connected to one another.
