The present teachings provide one or more surgical implements for repairing damaged tissue, such as through a fixation procedure. A system for a percutaneous procedure is provided. The system can include a bone fastener including a receiver. The system can include a device having a first end, a second end and a middle portion. The first end, middle portion and second end can be disposed along a longitudinal axis, and the second end can be connected to the receiver. The middle portion can have a pair of deformable leg members extending between the first and second ends. The leg members can define a channel having a width. The leg members can be selectively movable between a retracted state and an expanded state with the width of the channel greater in the expanded state than in the retracted state.

Deformable device for minimally invasive fixation

A system and method for remote manufacturing of medical devices are provided. The system can be installed at a facility (e.g., at a hospital or other medical facility), and includes a remote manufacturing unit (RMU) that allows for customized, rapid fabrication of medical devices at the medical facility using suitable manufacturing techniques such as three-dimensional (3D) printing, additive manufacturing, subtractive manufacturing, etc. The RMU can communicate with a computer system which presents a healthcare professional with a digital catalog of medical products, and allows the healthcare professional to select and customize a desired device to be manufactured at the facility.

Systems and methods for remote manufacturing of medical devices

The present teachings provide one or more surgical implements for repairing damaged tissue, such as through a fixation procedure. A system for a percutaneous procedure is provided. The system can include a bone fastener including a receiver. The system can include a device having a first end, a second end and a middle portion. The first end, middle portion and second end can be disposed along a longitudinal axis, and the second end can be connected to the receiver. The middle portion can have a pair of deformable leg members extending between the first and second ends. The leg members can define a channel having a width. The leg members can be selectively movable between a retracted state and an expanded state with the width of the channel greater in the expanded state than in the retracted stare.

A method of releasably securing an article with an audio recording includes handling a binder clip having audio circuitry with recordation and playback capabilities. The binder clip includes a pair of actuating arms and a gripping portion. The audio circuitry is in the form other than that of a cell phone attached to the binder clip. The method additionally includes compressing the pair of actuating arms of the binder clip above the gripping portion to expand the gripping portion and inserting at least a portion of the article into the gripping portion. The method further includes releasing the actuating arms so that the gripping portion grips the portion of the article inside the binder clip and recording audio onto the audio circuitry.
