In an apparatus in spinning preparation for separating foreign objects at conveying equipment for fiber material, at least one separation device is associated with the conveying equipment. The separation device comprises an arrangement for producing a blast of air that flows in the direction onto the conveying equipment and generates an air flow that detaches the foreign objects from the conveyed fibers and carries them away. The arrangement comprises a plurality of blast nozzles arranged across the width of the conveying equipment and connected to a compressed air pipe and to valves. To reduce the proportion of good fibers in the waste in a simple manner, and to allow a more selective action of the blast air current, a bar member for mounting the blast nozzles is present and the nozzles are integrated in the bar member.

Apparatus in spinning preparation for separating foreign objects at conveying equipment for fibre material

In an apparatus in spinning preparation for separating foreign objects at a roll for opening or doffing fiber material, at least one device for separating the foreign objects is associated with a face of the roll. That device comprises an arrangement for producing a current of blast air flowing onto the face for detaching the foreign objects and carrying them away. The arrangement comprises a plurality of blast nozzles arranged across the width of the roll. To permit separation and allow rapid changes of the action of the blast air current, a bar for mounting the blast nozzles is present and the outlet of the blast nozzles is locally displaceable in relation to the face of the roll.

Apparatus in spinning preparation for separating foreign objects at a high-speed roll for opening or doffing fibre material

In an apparatus at a spinning preparatory plant for detecting foreign objects, for example, pieces of cloth, tapes, string, pieces of sheeting and the like, in fibre material, the fibre material is transportable in an air flow through a fibre transport duct or a feed chute and an optical sensor system is associated with the duct or chute, the wall surfaces of which have at least one transparent region through which the sensor system detects the fibre-air flow. To permit the at least one transparent region to be kept clean in a simple manner during operation, and to permit an unobstructed detection of the foreign objects, the transparent region projects into the fibre-air flow and the fibre-air flow is able to flow along the transparent region in force-applying contact therewith.

In an apparatus in spinning preparation for feeding a plurality of charging shaftsto, especially a mixer, with fiber material that is transported for example pneumatically in a supply channeland deflected into the charging shafts by means of deflecting devices, each charging shaft is closable at its upper end by means of a rotary gatewhich, in its open position, closes off the cross-section of the supply channel. In order to increase the efficiency by means that are simple in terms of construction and, above all, to improve the transmission of the drive movement to the movement of the rotary gate, the rotary gate co-operates with a drive elementwhich imparts a rotary movement to the rotating axle of the rotary gate.

Apparatus for feeding a plurality of charging shafts, especially a mixer, with fibre material

A coiler can handling apparatus includes a platform rotatable about a substantially vertical platform axis for rotating a coiler can standing thereon; a travelling coiler can exchanger for moving a coiler can onto and moving a coiler can off the platform; and a centering device for centering a coiler can on the platform relative to the platform axis. The centering device includes first, second and third support rollers for engaging a lateral surface of the coiler can supported upright on the platform. The first, second and third support rollers lie on a common imaginary cylinder having a cylinder axis. The centering device further has a positioning arrangement for holding the first, second and third support rollers at the platform, apart from the travelling coiler can exchanger, whereby the coiler can exchanger travels without carrying therewith the first, second and third support rollers. The positioning arrangement includes a joint for movably holding the first and second support rollers to allow them to assume an inwardly pivoted position and an outwardly pivoted position. In the inwardly pivoted position the cylinder axis of the imaginary cylinder coincides with the platform axis.

Apparatus for exchanging coiler cans at a fiber processing textile

A fiber processing machine includes an opening roll; a feed roller positioned at a first clearance from the opening roll and a feed tray positioned at a second clearance from the opening roll. The feed tray defines a nip with the feed roller for clamping and advancing fiber material in the nip to the opening roll. A setting arrangement is provided for adjusting at least one of the first and second clearances.

A fiber tuft feeding device for a fiber processing machine includes a fiber advancing member; and an extruded, light-metal feed tray defining, with the fiber advancing member, a nip between which the fiber tufts pass in a feed direction. The feed tray which has a length extending transversely to the feed direction, includes an elongated cavity extending along the tray length. An elongated element which is resistant to bending, is received in the cavity and is substantially coextensive therewith. The feeding device further includes a support for positioning the feed tray adjacent the fiber advancing member.

Apparatus for cleaning and opening fiber tufts

A fiber processing machine includes two oppositely rotated, tangentially cooperating first and second clothed rolls, wherein the first roll is an upstream roll and the second roll is a downstream roll as viewed in a travelling direction of fiber material being entrained by the rolls on fiber-advancing portions thereof. The rolls have a generally horizontal axis of rotation and together define opposite first and second converging gaps. A first carrier is disposed in the first converging gap and partially extends over a circumferential portion of the first and second rolls. A mote knife is mounted on the first carrier and bounds a waste discharge opening situated circumferentially along one of the rolls. The first carrier has a carrier part partially covering the fiber-advancing portion of the first roll; and an additional curved carrier part extends along a circumference of the second roll. The additional curved carrier part defines an air intake gap with the second roll. There is also provided a second carrier disposed in the second converging gap; the second carrier has curved carrier parts extending over portions of circumferences of the first and second rolls.

A fiber processing machine includes a clothed roll arrangement for entraining fiber along a circular path; a housing surrounding the roll arrangement; at least two waste discharge openings; a separate mote knife bounding each waste discharge opening; a suction hood adjoining each waste discharge opening for receiving waste passing through the respective waste discharge opening; a separate suction conduit coupled to the respective suction hoods for receiving the waste therefrom; and a common suction duct coupled to each suction conduit for receiving the waste therefrom. The suction conduits and the common suction duct is a one-piece construction.

A carding machine has a main carding cylinder; a licker-in; a doffer; and at least two cover plates extending in a circumferential direction along a peripheral portion of the carding cylinder. The cover plates are situated below the carding cylinder and are circumferentially spaced from one another to define a waste-discharge opening therebetween. A mote knife adjoins an end of one of the cover plates and bounds the waste-discharge opening. There is further provided a suction chamber situated adjacent the mote knife and the waste-discharge opening for drawing away waste passing through the waste-discharge opening from the carding cylinder.

An apparatus for opening and cleaning textile fiber material includes a fiber feeding device for advancing the fiber material; a first clothed roller situated downstream of the fiber feeding device and being arranged for entraining the fiber material advanced by the fiber feeding device; a second clothed roller situated downstream of the first clothed roller and being arranged for entraining fiber material after entrainment thereof by the first clothed roller; a mote knife cooperating with the first and second clothed roller; a waste removal clearance bounded by each respective mote knife; and a third clothed roller situated between the first and second clothed rollers. The first, third and second clothed rollers are arranged in series, whereby the fiber material passes from the first clothed roller to the third clothed roller and from the third clothed roller to the second clothed roller. The third clothed roller cooperates with the first clothed roller and the second clothed roller cooperates with the third clothed roller as a doffer-and-opening roller.

A textile fiber processing machine has a fiber processing roller; a carrier element supported in the machine immediately radially adjacent the roller and covering a circumferential portion thereof; a plurality of fiber processing elements arranged on the carrier element and cooperating with the roller; and a securing arrangement for separately adjustably mounting each fiber processing element on the carrier element.
