Low-dust or dust-free dye preparations

The .beta.-modification, which is stable under dyeing conditions, of the dyestuff of the formula ##STR1## is prepared by heating the .alpha.-modification, which is unstable under dyeing conditions, at temperatures of 60.degree. to 180.degree. C. and the .beta.-modification is useful in printing and dyeing fiber materials of cellulose esters, synthetic linear polyesters or mixed fabrics of the polyester fiber material with wool or viscose staple.

A process for the preparation of the lithium azo compound of the formula ##STR1## having an Na content of less than 0.2% by weight, in particular less than 0.1% by weight, in which the lithium salt of 4-(.beta.-sulfatoethylsulfonyl)-aniline is diazotized in an aqueous solution or in an aqueous solution containing a water-miscible organic solvent by means of nitrosylsulfuric acid, and the product is coupled with the lithium salt of 1-hydroxy-7-acetylaminonaphthalene-3-sulfonic acid.

Liquid, water-containing dyeing formulation of a reactive dyestuff, which contains 10-50% by weight of C.I. Reactive Blue 19, 5-50% by weight of one or more anionic dispersants from the group of the ligninsulfonates or from the group of condensation products of formaldehyde with naphthalenesulfonic acid or with a naphthalenesulfonic acid which is substituted by 1-3 lower alkyl groups, 1-30% by weight of the sodium salt of anthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid, 1-6% by weight of one or more buffer substances which are incapable of any reaction with the reactive dyestuff which diminishes the dyeing strength, and 38-83% by weight of water.

Liquid reactive dyestuff formulations and their use

A process is described for separating sodium sulfate from aqueous solutions, containing less than 2% by weight of chloride, of certain fiber-reactive copper-formazan dyestuffs wherein this dyestuff solution is cooled down to a temperature between +5.degree. C. and -15.degree. C. In the course of the cooling the sodium sulfate precipitates in the form of the decahydrate and can be separated off in conventional manner, for example by filtration. The products obtained in this way are liquid low-salt aqueous copper-formazan dyestuff preparations which contain less than 4% by weight of sodium sulfate.

Process for preparing liquid low-salt aqueous reactive dyestuff

A process is described for separating sodium sulfate from aqueous solutions of certain fiber-reactive dyestuffs, which contain less than 2% by weight of chloride, by cooling down said solution to a temperature between +5.degree. C. and -15.degree. C. In the course of the cooling, the sodium sulfate precipitates in the form of the decahydrate and can be separated off in conventional manner, for example by filtration. The results obtained in this way are aqueous liquid low-salt preparations of these dyestuffs which contain less than 4% by weight of sodium sulfate.

The invention relates to liquid reactive dyestuff preparations containing one or several dyestuffs, the chromophore of which has of from 1 to 8 SO.sub.3 H groups and of from 1 to 3 fiber-reactive groups, a solubilizer, an anionic dispersing agent and buffer substances and having a pH of from 3 to 7. These preparations are particularly stable to storage and are suitable for dyeing and printing natural and synthetic fiber material.

Liquid reactive dyestuff preparations and their use

Watersoluble oxalkylated novolaks of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is alkyl of 1 to 18 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 is hydrogen or R.sup.1, X is ethylene or propylene, m is 6 to 100 and n is 1 to 12, are preparation agents for disperse dyestuffs. Disperse dystuff preparations containing these compounds have a stable and uniform distribution of the dyestuff particles, even with high dyestuff concentrations, and show good dyeing properties, low or no foam in dyebaths and useful viscosities in printing pastes.

The invention relates to the use of water-soluble compounds obtained by esterifying alkylene oxide adducts on alcohols having 10 to 24 C atoms with carboxylic acids having up to 22 C atoms and carrying 1 to 6 carboxyl groups as preparation agents for dyestuffs which are insoluble to sparingly soluble in water and preparations which contain a dyestuff having a particle size of less than about 5 .mu.m and one of the preparation agents mentioned.

Oxalkylates of chemically modified natural rosin acids are useful for dyestuff preparations, especially for dispersions of disperse dyestuffs. The liquid and solid dyestuff preparations containing these oxalkylates are stable to storing even with high dyestuff concentrations, easily redispersible while developing little foam and easily biodegradable.

Water-soluble surface-active esters of di- to hexa-hydric aliphatic alcohols which have been reacted with propylene oxide and/or ethylene oxide and thereafter with at least two moles of a carboxylic acid of up to 22 carbon atoms are useful for dyestuff preparations.
