According to the invention there is provided a concealed radio transmitting device which includes a radio transmitter, an antenna coupled to the radio transmitter, power supply for supplying electric power to the transmitter, an on/off device connected between the power supply and the radio transmitter, and a housing shaped as a tape measure adapted for containing the radio transmitter, the antenna, the power supply and the on/off device, and wherein further the concealed radio transmitting device includes in the radio transmitter an audio input, and a microphone connected to the audio input for transferring audio signals to the transmitter.

The present invention has a pair of hollow fiberglass ladders supported on top of the roof of a van by a support means including a hollow standard extending up from the roof and located between the inner sides of the two ladders. Antennas are located in the hollow outer sides of the ladders and electrical wiring for the antennas extends through hollow rungs of the ladders and through the hollow inner sides of the ladder, through the hollow standard, and down through an opening in the van roof to radio communication equipment inside the van.

The present power pack for a portable cellular telephone has a concealed radio transmitter for law enforcement use. The usual battery compartment in the housing of the power pack has a shortened battery compartment above which are located interior walls of the housing which are notched or recessed to support a printed circuit board carrying a radio transmitter. The housing has a shallow recess on the inside in which an antenna is potted. A space inside the housing receives a microphone for the radio transmitter. An opening near the lower end of the housing receives a push button switch for powering the transmitter from batteries in the shortened battery compartment.

A SigSauer pistol is modified to hold on the inside of its plastic handle grip an antenna assembly and spring contacts connected conductively to the antenna assembly. A modified magazine casing in the handle of the pistol has a chamber below a false bottom for receiving batteries and a printed circuit board carrying a radio transmitter and microphone. Electrical contacts on the outside of the magazine casing engage the spring contacts on the inside of the handle grip when the magazine casing is slidably inserted into the usual metal handle body on the pistol. Corresponding contacts on the inside of the magazine casing engage contacts on the printed circuit board that are connected electrically to the transmitter. Downwardly-facing battery switch contacts in the chamber are connected electrically to the transmitter and are positioned to engage respective terminals of two series-connected batteries.

This is a slidable battery holder for a simulated pager having a concealed radio transmitter. A fixed part of the battery holder is affixed to a bracket inside the housing of the simulated pager and provides a guideway which is open at the lower end of the housing. A pair of cantilevered leaf spring contacts are at the upper end of this guideway. The slidable part of the battery holder has a dielectric slide that is slidably received in the guideway, conductors on one face of the slide which engage the cantilevered switch contacts when the slide is pushed in, and battery contacts beyond the opposite face of the slide for engagement by the terminals of a battery. The battery contacts are connected conductively by their bias springs to the conductors on the slide.

Slidable battery holder for simulated pager with concealed radio

A Browning high power pistol with a concealed radio transmitter. The wood side pieces on the hollow gun handle are recessed to hold a microphone and radio transmitter circuitry in one side piece and an antenna, including its ground plane, in the other. The usual magazine casing is modified to have a false bottom and a compartment below the false bottom for receiving a standard 9-volt battery. The usual spring-operated pusher for bullets is in the magazine casing above the false bottom. The wood side piece holding the battery and its ground plane support a pair of switch contacts that are engaged by switch contacts on the outside of the magazine casing when the magazine casing is fully inserted into the gun handle. These switch contacts, when engaged, connect the battery to the transmitter circuitry and the antenna.
