A multimagazine disc player includes an array of magazines removably stored therein each for holding a plurality of discs, and a playback means movable and positionable in alignment with one of the magazines at a time for playing back a selected one of the discs contained in the magazine. The discs stored in the magazines can selectively be played back automatically, and can also easily be replaced with other discs not stored in the disc player. The multimagazine disc player also has a magazine presence/absence detecting means for detecting whether each magazine is loaded or not, so that a wasteful time which would otherwise be consumed by moving the playback means to a position where no magazine is loaded can be eliminated.

Multi-magazine disc player

A disk and navigation apparatus for reproducing the disk in a position locating system wherein the maps are more clearly displayed without requiring a large increase in the amount of data storage capacity required. On the disk there are recorded in a frequency division multiplex mode a video FM signal of a first frequency band obtained by frequency-modulating a video signal containing map data, and a video digital signal of a second frequency band obtained by digitizing and digitally modulating a video signal indicative of a travel path of the map data along which the object to be guided moves. The video digital signal of the travel path in a picture is located on the same track as the video FM signals of N (integer) fields of the corresponding picture.

Disk and navigation apparatus for position locating system

A magnetic head for tape recorders and the like is manufactured with cores made of alloys of elements such as Al and Fe which have relatively large potential differences. In order to avoid the galvanic effect which may be produced by segregation and impurities in the alloys, a part of the tape sliding surface is made of an element such as Zn which is lower in galvanic potential than elements forming the cores, and that part of the tape sliding surface is made electrically conductive to the cores.
