An energy management system of a power supply grid includes at least one control unit (CU) connected to distributed energy resource controllers (ERC) of energy resources (ER) of the power supply grid by means of a communication network, (CNW) wherein the control unit (CU) monitors communication links (CL) between the control unit (CU) and the energy resource controllers (ERC) via the communication network (CNW), and wherein the control unit (CU) is adapted to calculate a predicted operation behavior of an energy resource (ER) controlled by an energy resource controller (ERC) if a loss of communication or a communication bandwidth limitation of the monitored communication link to the energy resource controller (ERC) is detected.

Method and apparatus for performing energy management in a power supply grid

A method for communication in an energy automation network having a number of substations, each including energy automation component(s) and an internal communication network for message exchange. The communication networks of the substations are interconnected for message exchange via a public network without multicast support. Each energy automation component may include an application for controlling a communication unit, wherein messages according to IEC 61850 can be exchanged between applications of a common group which includes energy automation components of at least two substations. A first application of a particular group of applications transmits a message to second application(s) of the same group via the substation communication network and/or a public network. Tunnels that encapsulate GOOSE messages may be used to allow an overlay network for transmission of GOOSE messages via a public network without multicast support. The logical groupings of applications may therefore define separate, logical communication networks.

The invention substantially relates to a method, wherein operational control parameters and/or control limits, which are to be conveyed using communications technology, are determined on the operator side for each of the distributed storage devices in such a way that a specific cost function is minimal for all of the distributed storage devices on the basis of locally measured variables determined at the respective storage device and transmitted to the operator and on the basis of installation-dependent control limits stored locally in each case and which are also transmitted to the operator, and wherein the operational control parameters and/or control limits, which are to be conveyed using communications technology, are transmitted from the operator side to the corresponding distributed storage devices and implemented there. Electrical energy is made available incrementally for at least one session (for example for charging an electric vehicle), i.e. to prevent, by way of the delayed provision of the electrical energy, the occurrence of brief severe loading of the energy network. For example, a newly determined load distribution can lead to redistribution of electrical energy for a large number of charging stations, and this redistribution is preferably not carried out at once at a single time for all the affected charging stations but instead is carried out distributed, for example, over multiple points in time. This is advantageous and useful in electric mobility and in load management when charging multiple electric vehicles.

In a method for controlling the electrical power consumption of a plurality of power consumers in a power grid, the power consumers represent network nodes of a communication network made of a plurality of network nodes, in which the power consumers communicate with each other. Each of the network nodes estimates the total power consumption of the network nodes based on the exchange of information with one other network node. Each network node having an additional power demand which increases a required amount of power, compares the total power consumption estimated by the network node plus the required amount of power to a predefined total power demand of the network nodes and initiates a delivery of the required amount of power from a power provider when the estimated total power demand thereof plus the required amount of power is less than the predefined total power demand by a threshold value.

Method for computer-aided control of the electrical power consumption of a plurality of power consumers in an electrical power grid

In a charging management system for electrical vehicles, a maximum charging current for a plurality of charging operations, e.g., for a plurality of charging stations and/or a plurality of electrical vehicles, is coordinated in a centralized or a decentralized manner while complying with predefined flexibly adjustable secondary conditions. The secondary conditions can include economic and/or technical stipulations. In addition to a centralized load management system, a decentralized load management facility carries out a load distribution via a master charging station or autonomously by each charging station itself. If the master charging station fails, a changeover is made to a backup master charging station. The method can be used, for example, in electrical mobility, in particular the electrification of individual traffic.
