A forward monitoring device for a train includes: a storage unit storing map information representing location information and a track geometry of a track and brake performance information representing performance of a train brake system; a train information acquisition unit obtaining train location information and train speed information; a monitoring unit monitoring an upside of the track in the travel direction; an obstacle determination unit determining presence or absence of an obstacle on the track based on a monitoring result of the monitoring unit; a braking distance calculation unit calculating a train braking distance using the map, brake performance, train location, and train speed information, and a processing time from when the monitoring unit performs monitoring until determination on presence or absence of an obstacle; and a monitoring distance determination unit determining a monitoring distance based on the braking distance to set a monitoring range of the monitoring unit.

An onboard system includes two control parts. Each of the two control parts has the function of performing a first process for controlling the travel of the transport vehicle. A central device includes an information control unit that specifies a stopping station where a train stops next on the basis of train information; selects a recommended door operating switch at the stopping station from among the door operating switches on the basis of an estimated passenger-number value, which is the number of passengers at the stopping station, as a recommended door operating switch for the stopping station; and then it displays display information that prompts the train crew to operate the selected door operating switch on a display device in the control platform.

A speed profile creation device includes: a traveling simulator that creates, from a traveling instruction, a speed profile of allowing the train to travel through a traveling section together with a traveling time and energy consumption amount thereof by using a route condition, train performance, and a traveling condition; a traveling instruction draft creator that creates a plurality of traveling instruction drafts in which a reference speed profile is changed so that the energy consumption amount can decrease though the traveling time is lengthened a little; an optimum speed profile selector that selects an optimum speed profile in which an energy consumption amount reduction effect is maximum among the plurality of traveling instruction drafts; and a reference speed profile updating unit that updates the reference speed profile until the traveling time of the optimum speed profile becomes equivalent to the target traveling time.

In accordance with a predetermined segment definition rule based on a point-switch protection section, a point switch control direction, and a train advancing direction, a plurality of segments are defined in advance with respect to a railway network. Segment competition information in which a competitive relationship between the plurality of segments is set in advance is prepared. A segment use permission setting part determines whether or not a competition for a use-requested segment in terms of a train operation occurs between the plurality of trains, by using segment competition information and segment use permission status information. A use-requested segment for which it is determined that no competition occurs is incorporated, as a use permission segment, into use permission segment information of the corresponding train. In accordance with a result of the competition determination, the segment use permission status information is updated.

Train operation control system

A next station state estimating unit estimates a preceding train position from information about a stop track circuit of a current train and from a signal aspect table. It estimates the time, at which the preceding train exits the next station and brake pattern before the station is canceled, from information about the preceding train position, from information about the occupied track circuit on which the current train is present and related information between track circuits and a station and information about occupied duration of the station, which are retained in a track database, and from a history of the preceding train position retained in a history retaining unit. The time estimated is sent to a driver's cab by a communication unit.

Operation support device and automatic operation device

A train control system that does not allow running by erroneously receiving a signal of a further preceding train toward the front, nor permits a following train approaching another train beyond an allowable range. The system includes an existing signal system controlling running of a preceding train and a following train based on transmission signals from existing signal transmission devices, an inter-train communications system controlling running of the following train by an inter-train communications transmission signal received from the preceding train, and a train-ID transmission/reception system that detects, using a ground-based train-ID transmission/reception device, passing of the preceding train and also acquires train information of the preceding train, and that then detects passing of the following train and also transmits the train information to the following train, thereby controlling the running of the following train utilizing either one of the existing signal system and the inter-train communications system by changing over therebetween based on the train information.
