The present invention is concerned with expanded beads of thermoplastic polyurethane in which a water-soluble anionic surfactant is attached at 50 mg/mto 1,000 mg/monto the surfaces of expanded beads of thermoplastic polyurethane having a dispersant attached thereto; and a method for producing an expanded beads molded article, including filling the expanded beads of thermoplastic polyurethane in a mold for molding and heating with a water vapor to mutually fuse the expanded beads with each other. The present invention provides expanded beads from which an expanded TPU beads molded article having excellent tensile strength and a method for producing an expanded TPU beads molded article.

Provided are expanded beads capable of providing an expanded thermoplastic polyurethane beads molded article which is excellent in physical properties, such as compression characteristics, repulsion elasticity, etc., and an expanded thermoplastic polyurethane beads molded article. Expanded beads of thermoplastic polyurethane, wherein a Shore A hardness of the thermoplastic polyurethane is 85 or more; an average cell diameter of the expanded beads is 50 to 300 &#x3bc;m; and a closed cell ratio when bisecting the expanded thermoplastic polyurethane bead is 60% or more; and an expanded thermoplastic polyurethane beads molded article obtained through in-mold molding of the same are disclosed.

Provided is an expanded composite resin bead comprising a styrene resin and a propylene resin. The content of the propylene resin component in the expanded composite resin bead is from 20 to 40% by mass relative to a total of 100% by mass of the styrene resin component and the propylene resin component. In a transmission electron micrograph of a cross-section of a cell wallforming the expanded composite resin bead, disperse phasesmade of the styrene resin are dispersed in a continuous phasemade of the propylene resin. An average value of the maximum diameters of the disperse phasesis from 0.01 to 1 &#x3bc;m and a value of ratio of the average value of the maximum diameters to an average value of the minimum diameters of the disperse phasesis from 1 to 10.
