A printing apparatus includes an insertion port that is provided in a transport path of a medium and through which the medium is to be inserted; a roller pair configured to nip and transport the medium inserted through the insertion port, in the transport path, the roller pair comprises rollers facing each other; a printing unit configured to perform printing on the medium transported in the transport path by the roller pair; and a lever configured to switch a position of at least one roller of the roller pair between a nipping position where the roller pair is configured to nip the medium and a separation position where the roller pair does not nip the medium. A first lever as the lever is arranged within a range in which the medium transported by the roller pair is present, in a width direction intersecting with a transport direction of the medium.

Printing apparatus

The printing apparatus includes a transport unit, a printing unit, a support portion, and a suction force applying unit. The transport unit is configured to apply a transport force to the printing medium and transport the printing medium. The printing unit is configured to perform printing on the printing medium transported. The support portion includes a support face configured to support the printing medium at a position upstream of the transport unit in a transport direction in which the transport unit transports the printing medium. The suction force applying unit is configured to apply, to the printing medium transported along the support face, a suction force attracting the printing medium to the support face, thereby generating a surface pressure based on the suction force between the printing medium and the support face.

A medium drying device that dries a liquid applied to a medium includes a front surface portion in contact with the medium at a first surface, a heat source unit provided on a second face side, a rear surface portion provided at a position opposing the second face with the heat source unit therebetween, a side surface portion disposed at a position opposing the heat source unit in a direction intersecting both the front surface portion and the rear surface portion, and a heat insulating material. The heat source unit opposes the second face without the heat insulating material therebetween, and the heat insulating material is disposed at a position opposing the rear surface portion and the heat source unit.

Medium drying device and recording device

A first ink storage unit, a second ink storage unit, a discharging head configured to discharge the ink, a carriage configured to move the discharging head and the second ink storage unit in a first direction and a second direction, a tube that couples the first ink storage unit and the second ink storage unit, and a case provided with a first opening portion located vertically above a home position and a second opening portion located vertically above a first printing position, and including a beam located between the first opening portion and the second opening portion, are provided. The beam is an edge of the second opening portion, and when the carriage is located at the home position, the first ink storage unit and the second ink storage unit are located in the same direction with respect to the beam and the tube is supported by the beam.

Printer

A printer includes: a first ink storage unit and a second ink storage unit; an ejection head; a carriage configured to move the ejection head and the second ink storage unit; a tube coupling the first and the second ink storage unit to each other; a first exterior member positioned in front of the carriage; and a cutter configured to move in a scanning direction between the carriage and the first exterior member, wherein an opening is formed in the first exterior member at a position in front of the cutter, an inner surface of the first exterior member includes a first slide contact surface with which the tube can be brought into slide contact, and the first slide contact surface is positioned in an opening region where the opening is formed in the scanning direction and in a region above the opening in a vertical direction.

An ink storing device includes an ink tank having an injection port, a first cover including a cap configured to close the injection port, the first cover being movable between a closing position, and an opening position, a second cover including, at an inner face thereof, a display unit configured to display information relating to the ink, the second cover being movable between a covering position at which the inner face covers the first cover at the closing position, with the inner face being oriented downward, and a cover opening position at which the inner face does not cover the first cover at the closing position, wherein the cap, when viewed in a vertical direction, does not overlap the display unit included in the second cover at the cover opening position when the first cover moves between the closing position and the opening position.

Liquid storing device and recording apparatus

An ink accommodation body capable of accommodating a sublimation transfer ink injected, via an injection port from, a bottle accommodating the sublimation transfer ink, and a first cover having a cap capable of closing the injection port, and movable between a closing position at which the cap closes the injection port and an opening position at which the cap opens the injection port, are included, and the cap can be inserted into and pulled out of the injection port in an opening direction of the injection port when the first cover moves between the closing position and the opening position, and the first cover has a finger-hooking portion enabling insertion and pulling of the cap with a finger.

Ink accommodation device

A printer is provided that includes a first ink storage unit storing ink, a second ink storage unit storing ink supplied from the first ink storage unit, a discharge head configured to discharge ink, a carriage configured to move the discharge head and the second ink storage unit, and a tube coupling the first ink storage unit and the second ink storage unit. The second ink storage unit includes an ink supplying port to which the tube is coupled, a communication hole communicating making inside and outside of the second ink storage unit communicate with each other, and a light-transmissive surface which is transparent or translucent. The communication hole and a portion of the light-transmissive surface are located at a position vertically higher than a front surface of the carriage in a state where the second ink storage unit is mounted on the carriage.

Printer and ink supply unit

A printer includes a carriage in which a discharging head configured to discharge ink and an ink storage unit configured to store the ink to be supplied to the discharging head are mounted, and a lid member provided to the carriage. The lid member is rotatable to a first position and a second position, when the lid member is located at the first position, a supply port included in the ink storage unit is exposed, a first portion is located above the ink storage unit so as to limit removal of the ink storage unit from the carriage, and a lower end of a second portion is located below the supply port, and when the lid member is located at the second position, the ink storage unit is removable from the carriage, and the first portion and the second portion are located above the supply port.

An inkjet printer includes a housing, a first ink tank provided outside the housing, the first ink tank configured to store ink, a carriage having a second ink tank provided inside the housing, the second ink tank configured to store the ink, and a tube bundle obtained by bundling a plurality of tubes by which the second ink tank and the first ink tank are coupled. The housing is provided with a paper exit through which a sheet in the housing passes, the tube bundle passes through the paper exit, and a tube alignment direction of the tube bundle at the paper exit intersects with a sheet surface normal direction of the sheet at the paper exit.

Inkjet printer and ink supply unit

A liquid discharge device includes a discharge head configured to discharge a liquid on a medium conveyed, a carriage on which the liquid discharge head and a liquid cartridge are mounted configured to move in an X-axis direction, a cap disposed outside a conveying area in the X-axis direction, and configured to have contact with a nozzle surface of the discharge head on which a nozzle opens, and a control section configured to control moving of the carriage. When one of the replacement of the liquid cartridge and refill of the liquid container is performed, the control section locates the carriage at the first position where the nozzle surface is opposed to the area between the conveying area and the cap in the X-axis direction.

Liquid discharge device and method of controlling liquid discharge device

A printing apparatus includes a printing head, a controller, an FFC, and a support section. The printing head discharges liquid onto a medium while moving in a primary scan direction so as to print an image on the medium. The controller controls a discharge state of the liquid from the printing head. The FFC electrically connects the printing head and the controller together so as to enable transmission of control signals, and includes a flat portion. The support section supports the flat portion of the flexible flat cable. A portion of the support section that contacts the flat portion is shorter than a width of the flexible flat cable in an orthogonal direction orthogonal to the primary scan direction.
