An apparatus for producing metal organic frameworks, comprising: a tubular flow reactor comprising a tubular body into which, in use, precursor compounds which form the metal organic framework are fed and flow, said tubular body including at least one annular loop.

Production of metal-organic frameworks

A method of separating a metal organic framework (MOF) from a solution and associated apparatus. The method comprises: providing a MOF containing solution; contacting the MOF containing solution with an acoustic reflector surface such that, any high frequency ultrasound applied within the MOF containing solution reflects off the acoustic reflector surface; and applying a high frequency ultrasound of at least 20 kHz to the MOF containing solution. The MOF material is substantially separated from solution as aggregated sediment that settles out of solution.

Separation of metal-organic frameworks

A droplet generation system includes a first nozzle configuration structured to receive a liquid and a gas under pressure in a controllable feed ratio, and to merge the liquid and gas to form an intermediate stream that is a mixture of the gas and of a dispersed phase of the liquid. A second nozzle configuration is connected to receive the intermediate stream from the first nozzle configuration and has a valve mechanism with one or more controllable operating parameters to emit a stream of droplets of the liquid. The mean size of the droplets is dependent on the controllable feed ratio of the liquid and gas and the flow rate of the stream of droplets is dependent on the controllable operating parameter(s) of the valve mechanism. A corresponding method is disclosed, as is the application of the system and method to the production of nanoparticles in a thermochemical reactor.

Droplet generation system and method

A process for depositing nanostructured material onto a particulate substrate material comprising the steps of: a) preparing a precursor material; b) forming an atomized dispersion containing nanophased material when subjecting said precursor material to elevated temperature; and c) contacting the atomized dispersion with the substrate material to deposit the nanophased material on the substrate material. The substrate material is in mobile and particulate form for contacting step (c). An apparatus for carrying out the process is also disclosed.
